Ecstatic: Ruffalo and Milano celebrated Biden’s state victories via Twitter

Meanwhile, Milano, 47, got straight to the point with her short message.

‘We. Are. Winning,’ Alyssa Milano posted. ‘That’s all. That’s the tweet.’

Mia Farrow and John Cusack struck a more reserved tone as they announced Biden had taken the state of Wisconsin.

‘CNN projects: Biden wins Wisconsin,’ Mia tweeted.

Sounds good to him! Rob Reiner contemplated the prospect of a Biden presidency

‘Biden Just won Wisconsin,’ Cusack posted.

Rob Reiner also contemplated the prospect of a Biden presidency.

‘President Biden. Sounds good,’ he tweeted.

Biden is currently edging nearer to election victory after winning the state of Wisconsin and a lead in Michigan with just one percent of the vote there left to count, which has prompted President Trump to claim election fraud, demand recounts and even file lawsuits to try to stop votes from being counted.

Biden won Wisconsin with 20,000 votes – a 0.6 % majority of 1.63million votes over Trump’s 1.609million. It gives him another 10 electoral college votes – bringing his total to 248 – and Michigan, which is also in his sights, would bring him another 16.

If Biden wins Michigan today, and Nevada tomorrow – as Democrats have done in every presidential election since 2004 albeit on a small margin – he will have reached the 270 electoral college votes he needs to claim the White House.

Equally if he wins Michigan today and either North Carolina or Georgia today, he will also have won.

As the vote counting continued, dozens of Trump fans in Detroit descended on a counting center, demanding to be allowed inside to oversee the process after he claimed that it was being done unfairly.

Biden is leading in Michigan by 37,000 votes but there are still 55,000 votes to count, meaning it is still very much in play despite 99 percent of the vote having been counted.
