Dominic West appears without his wedding ring on a speedboat in Bond-style promo after kissing Lily James

DOMINIC West appeared without his wedding ring as he posed on a speedboat in a James Bond style trailer for his new show.

The macho display comes just over a week after the married 50-year-old actor was caught kissing his 31-year-old co-star Lily James on a loved-up Rome holiday.

The slick video is to promote Amazon Prime's The Wine Show, which premieres next week, and it was filmed before the scandal broke.

In the clip, Dominic looks suave in sunglasses and a suit, smiling in the sun as he guides the speedboat along the river Douro in Portugal with his ring notably absent from his left hand.

He then swaps the boat for a Porsche, driving to the Quinta Do Noval vineyard to enjoy a leisurely glass of wine.

It comes after The Sun revealed that Dominic's wife of 10 years, Catherine FitzGerald, fled to her mum's house in Ireland as pals said she needs "space".

Catherine put on a united front with Dominic the day after the pictures of him with Lily broke, insisting that their marriage remained strong.

But she is said to be feeling "humiliated" after a second set of photos that showed them looking cosy at the airport emerged.

The friend told us: "Catherine has tried her best to put on a brave face, but ultimately, seeing a second set of pictures made her feel even more humiliated.

“It’s been so hard for her and she shocked even herself with how dignified and graceful she has been throughout this.

“Taking herself away to her mother’s home is giving her time to properly think about everything and how they can work this out.”

Dominic confirmed earlier this week that landscape gardener Catherine had travelled alone to Ireland.

He said: “She’s on a work trip. She’s gone by herself.”

Questioned about whether the pair were still together, The Affair star insisted: “Of course we are, very much together. Our relationship is fine.”

Catherine is expected to quarantine for a fortnight at her family’s ancestral home, Glin Castle, in Limerick.

Lily, who is filming the BBC adaptation of The Pursuit of Love with Dominic, has yet to comment – and has pulled out of a string of public appearances.

A source told New! magazine that Dominic had told his wife his and Lily's intimacy was down to a "midlife crisis" and he is desperate to "make it up to her" for the sake of their family.

The pair are mum and dad to 13-year-old Dora, 12-year-old Senan, 11-year-old Francis, and seven-year-old Christabel.

Dominic also has an older daughter from a previous relationship.

Lily and Dominic, who play a father and daughter in upcoming BBC drama The Pursuit Of Love, caused shockwaves when they were seen kissing and cuddling while on holiday in Rome last weekend with Dominic at one point putting his hand on Lily's bottom.

The duo were spotted as they spent two nights in a suite at the top of swanky Hotel De La Ville in Rome.

In the pictures, Dominic is seen stroking Lily's hair as they get lunch together and smiling at the beauty before leaning in for a kiss.

At the time, it was reported that Dominic's wife had been left "devastated and heartbroken" – with it confirmed that she and Dominic were still together having married in 2010.

But the next day, the couple put on a loved-up display outside of their family home where they insisted that they had a "strong marriage", with Catherine even kissing her husband before giving out a handwritten note that asserted they were still happy together.

Meanwhile, The Sun revealed earlier this month that Lily had split from The Crown actor Matt Smith for good after they attempted to rekindle their romance in lockdown following their break-up last year after a five-year relationship.

Lily was previously defended after she was branded a "homewrecker" by critics, with furious fans pointing out the "sexist double standards" of the criticism and that Dominic was the one who has been unfaithful.

Dominic first rose to prominence in US hit series The Wire in 2002 before playing a love cheat in The Affair between 2014 and 2019.

The steamy Sky Atlantic series saw the British actor take on the role of Noah, who cheats on his wife – and the mother of his four children – with a waitress that he meets in a diner.
