Take That legends Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow reunite for secret new tracks

Take That fans have one major reason to celebrate after former bandmates Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow secretly teamed up to write a string of new tracks this year.

The top-secret writing sessions were denied by Gary's camp when contacted by Daily Star Online, only for Rob to let the cat out of the bag this week.

The Party Like A Russian singer has teased the new tracks – branding them "damn fine top pop songs".

Robbie, 46, teased: "Me and Gary have been writing songs together… and damn fine songs they are too.

"Top pop they are from pop masters.

"Gary has got his synths out and I have got my 90s and 80s electronic melodies and lyrics out."

Sadly for fans of the duo, the new songs aren't part of a Take That reunion, nor will they feature on Gary's upcoming album Music Played By Humans.

Admitting Covid has put a halt on the tracks being released, Robbie added: "I don't know when they are going to come out though, as I can't do any live shows."

Robbie and Gary last teamed up on their 2010 single Shame.

The song appeared on Robbie's Greatest Hits album In and Out of Consciousness.

Robbie and Gary famously locked horns during their time in Take That and when Robbie suddenly quit the band.

The Rock DJ singer, then 21, savagely branded Gary a "clueless w*****" before adding the group, "had all the creativity of mentally unstable morons".

Hitting back, Gary accused Robbie of being jealous of the wealth he had accumulated via writing royalties.

Gary previously said: "Rob felt that for the last year of Take That, he was crying out to every one of us.

“In the end he left, and we handled that badly. We let him leave the fold and no one looked after him. Robbie was barely 21.

“What happened between me and Rob always bothered me.”

The duo finally buried the hatchet when Robbie rejoined Take That on their sell-out Progress Live Tour in 2011.

A rep for Robbie Williams declined to comment.
