If you thought Neighbours was done celebrating its 35th you were mistaken my friend, the celebrations are ongoing, and it’s just what we need.
Another familiar face has made their way back to the famous cul-de-sac, and this time in the name of saving a grieving woman from a pigeon.
Naomi Canning (Morgana O’Reilly) is back in the street ready to help her grieving mother in the wake of Gary’s (Damien Richardson) tragic death, can she be the one to pull Sheila out of her funk?
Sheila is worrying everyone with her insistence that Gary the pigeon is her son reincarnate. So when Naomi shows up out of the blue, it’s just at the right time. Sheila is elated and is distracted from her feathery friend, but only momentarily – only until she realises she’s there to talk sense into her.
Naomi comes to a quick conclusion – Sheila’s issue is with Susan (Jackie Woodburne) and her inability to let go of her anger. So she concocts a plan to force Sheila to confront her problem and make the two women sort out their differences.
She resorts to drastic measures by locking the two women in the house together until they can sort things out. But rather than sorting the problem, has she just lit a fuse and run away?
Naomi is also keen to see what’s going on with Kyle (Chris Milligan) and Roxy (Zima Anderson). Could she be the one to finally get the two together?
Naomi decides to stick around a little longer, looking for work over at the hotel. But just as she’s settling in she’s hit with a blast from her past, is it one she’d rather forget?
Scenes air from Monday 25th May on Channel 5.
