Lydia Bright attacked by a mum-shamer for drinking wine

Lydia Bright is forced to defend herself after being attacked by a mum-shamer for drinking wine while looking after baby Loretta

Lydia Bright was attacked by a mum-shamer for drinking wine while looking after her three-month-old baby Loretta.

She had initially posed with a bottle of wine in hand and written: ‘Yes to the weekend,’ while preparing to let loose a little.

But it seems it had all been a little much for Lydia, 30,  after not drinking while she was pregnant and she admitted to being hungover the next morning.

Ouch! Lydia Bright was forced to defend herself on Instagram on Sunday after being attacked by a mum-shamer for drinking wine while looking after baby Loretta

Sweet: Lydia gave birth to Loretta three months ago and most of that time, she has been in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic

Sharing a picture of herself in bed with her hand clasped to her face, she wrote: ‘I didn’t put covers on my bed last night.

‘I’m drinking Coke at 5am. Don’t judge.’

Yet it seems as though people did judge and one person wrote: ‘You shouldn’t be drinking while looking after your baby. That’s abuse, you know.

Wild: She had initially posed with a bottle of wine in hand and written: ‘Yes to the weekend,’ while preparing to let loose a little

‘Hungover? Wise to be getting drunk is it?’

Lydia had clapped back? ‘After a year of no alcohol, due to being pregnant, I had my first glass of wine this week.

‘Last night I had a couple of glasses. I wasn’t drunk, falling over and Loretta was in bed. I have a small hangover, which is already lifting because clearly my body isn’y used to alcohol after such a long time. Give a girl a break!’

Give me a break: Lydia had written this after being criticised by a mum-shamer

Another fan had then written: ‘Good morning, so you had a glass of wine last night so what… I for one hope you enjoyed it and that when you fancy another glass of wine, you’ll enjoy that one to [sic].

‘You are an amazing mummy and an honest one at that. You’ve shared the good, the bad and the ugly of the last few weeks which not everyone would be so keen to share.

‘So, to the perfect Paulines, judgement Julies and trolling Tina, go get a bloody life and have a wine, love.’

A change of tone: But she said some of the kind messages had made her feel emotional

That’s more like it:  Some of the kinder messages were well-received

Lovely: It’s fair to say Lydia had more support than negative messages being thrown her way

Another mum had written: ‘I just want to say it was really refreshing to see/hear a celebrity being so open and honest about their day not going to plan.

‘And that sometimes things can go s***. This is the reality of having a baby and unfortunately not a lot of people are honest about that on Instagram.’

‘And it can leave parents, like myself, feeling as if they are perhaps doing something wrong or are just unlucky because people only show the good bits.’

Lydia welcomed Loretta in February – her first daughter with boyfriend Lee Cronin.

She only had a few weeks of freedom with her little one before the nationwide lockdown was imposed due to the coronavirus.

This has meant that becoming a new mother at this time is much more stressful than it normally would have been.

There you go: Lydia was thrilled to discover that most mothers were in her camp

Both sides: It’s clear that Lydia is keen to show the full picture of motherhood, warts and all
