Thre rumors regarding Charlamagne Tha God’s future at The Breakfast Club are still unclear. But Charlamagne is now claiming that listeners may have taken his remarks out of context and is not confirming if he is leaving the show.

Charlamagne Tha God responds to Joe Budden’s comments about him leaving ‘The Breakfast Club’

Many are wondering what the new layout of the show will look like without Charlamagne, especially because for many years, he played the “bad guy” or truth seeker on the show. One person who was not afraid to voice their concerns about Charlamagne’s potential absence is Budden, who spoke about how much the show will change if Charlamagne does not return.

“I think that it dramatically changes the course of things, I do. I do not understate his importance – their importance – what they’ve done in 10 years,” Budden explained on his podcast. “I won’t overplay the alleged tension that exists in that crew because that’s what happens after 10 years.”

Budden essentially believes that the show will not survive without Charlamagne’s input.

Charlamagne responded to Budden’s remarks on his own podcast Brilliant Idiots.

“I think that’s Joe [Budden’s] opinion. I can’t be mad at Joe’s opinion because he’s basing it off of a conversation we had when he was on Breakfast Club with State of the Culture interview,” he said.

Charlamagne Tha God says people can continue to speculate whether or not he is leaving ‘The Breakfast Club’

While Charlemagne doesn’t deny the remarks he made during his interview with Budden, he insinuated that people are looking to deep into what he said.

“Joe just asked are we redoing our contracts or something to that extent. We all just got silent basically, I just said ‘My contract is up in December.’ Which is true. Joe’s just going off the speculation that he’s heard out there. A lot of people ran with what I said in that ‘State of the Culture’ interview and they did articles on it and stuff like that. It became a little story… but I’m not tripping off that. I was actually listening to the Joe Budden podcast that day.”

Still, Charlamagne refused to confirm or deny whether or not he will be leaving the show at the end of his contract, telling his co-hosts that as Budden did, people can continue to speculate and “take that however you want to take it.”

There’s been obvious tension between Charlamagne and Angela Yee, with Yee admitting that there’s been a shift in her professional and personal relationship with Charlamagne after he did an interview with rapper Gucci Mane that left her feeling disrespected. But since Charlamagne won’t give a direct answer as to if he’s leaving the show, fans will have to wait and see.
