Fans have kept track of Jenelle Evans after Teen Mom 2 through her social media. It seems like her time at MTV is over, but she seems to have some hope about returning. Find out what she said about going back to MTV and more.
Jenelle Evans will be released from her MTV contract in April
Evans was fired from Teen Mom 2 after it was reported David Eason allegedly killed her dog. “MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since,” a MTV spokesperson told Us Weekly. “Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.”
She still has a contract with the company. “I’m officially out of contract with MTV in April,” she told E! News. “That was the only thing I was waiting on to move forward. Once April comes around, I can start talking to other networks, thank God!”
Since then, Evans has talked about what life has been like for her lately. She claimed that she is enjoying it.
Evans said it has been ‘awesome’ not being on the show
The former reality star said her experience has been positive since being fired. “It’s really awesome actually, because then it’s not like I’m worried about what’s about to air,” Evans told PopCulture.com. “Are people gonna judge me? Am I parenting right or wrong? It’s all about what I want to do — I make my own schedule, and I do what I want, and I share what I want.”
She later said, “Because it’s like I’m having fun with it, versus when I was on Teen Mom it was just kind of like, ‘Get the camera out of my face, I’m mad right now.’ Now it’s, ‘Hey, I’m happy, let’s go do something fun. Let’s film something fun.’ And whenever you try to suggest that to MTV, it gets tossed out.”
She would return to MTV
Evans gave fans an update on her life after reality TV on the podcast, Dumb Blonde. She claims she’s still enjoying time away from the cameras.
“It’s been nice,” she said according to People. “I mean, I’ve been basically doing what I want, and for once making my own schedule and picking and choosing if I want to do something or if I don’t. I’m not forced into anything or forced to talk about anything I don’t want to talk about.”
There are perks to not being on TV, but Evans is interested in returning to MTV. “I will do MTV stuff, but I don’t want to do it under the Teen Mom name anymore. I want to be my own person, do my own thing. I want to be known as Jenelle Eason, not Jenelle Eason from Teen Mom,” she said. “I’ve grown up, I’m 28 — I’m almost 30!”
She admitted there are pros and cons to being in the franchise. “Because you can get opportunities from it or you can get denied opportunities,” Evans said. “It all depends on their opinion of you.”
There doesn’t seem to be any real plans of her returning to the network. However, she seems hopeful of doing another show in the future.
