JAMES Bulger killer Jon Venables could be freed from prison within weeks despite repeated child sex crimes as his victim's dad warns: “He’ll kill again.”
The murderer, who killed the two-year-old with pal Robert Thompson when the pair were just 10 years old, served eight years in secure juvenile detention for his horrific crime.
James Bulger was murdered by Jon Venables and Robert Thompson in 1993.
Both Venables and Thompson were released on licence with lifelong anonymity but Venables was sent back to prison for possessing images of child sexual abuse.
The Parole Board is now considering whether to release Venables, now 38, and a hearing is expected to be set within weeks.
James’ heartbroken dad, Ralph Bulger, 53, has now revealed he feels Venables won’t stop until he’s killed again.
"HE'LL KILL AGAIN"
He told the Mirror: “He went on to commit more crimes against children. I don’t believe he will stop until he has killed again.
“It’s vital that when it takes place the Parole Board looks in depth at the sexual abuse of James when he was tortured and murdered by Venables and Thompson.
“It is directly linked to Venables’ later sex crimes against children.
He went on to commit more crimes against children. I don’t believe he will stop until he has killed again.
“If they don’t take this into account, they are failing to deal with the magnitude of how dangerous he is.
“He is a dangerous, predatory child abuser and killer and I am terrified he will strike again and harm another child like my James.”
Mr Bulger added: “If they let him out again and he commits further crimes, the board should be called into question to face accountability.
CHILD SEX CRIMES
“Ever since James was murdered in 1993, the sexual torture of James has been brushed under the carpet.
“Venables might have been 10 years old then but now he is a grown man and a predator with a disgusting lust for children. He is wired wrong and has always been.
“Keeping him in prison is the only way to make sure he can’t target kids again.”
Evil Venables and Thompson snatched James from his mum in Liverpool in 1993.
They brutally tortured and murdered little James before leaving his body on train tracks.
While Thompson has not been heard of since, Venables has gone on to commit other sordid crimes.
Venables has been jailed twice – in 2010 and in February 2018 – after admitting possessing child abuse images.
In February 2018, he pleaded guilty to having more than 1,000 indecent images of children and was jailed for 40 months.
What happened to James Bulger?
Robert Thompson and Jon Venables were only 10 years old when they became the country’s youngest murderers in 250 years.
Little James was led away by the depraved duo while his mother was in a butcher's shop at the busy shopping centre.
A picture taken from CCTV footage shows the tot being taken by the hand in what would become one of the defining images of the shocking case.
The killers walked James for two and half miles and were spotted by 38 people – some of whom challenged the pair.
Venables and Thompson told passers-by that the distressed toddler was their younger brother or that he was lost and they were taking him to a local police station.
The pair took James to a railway line and tortured, beat and sexually assaulted him.
They poured modelling paint into his eyes, stoned him and clubbed him with bricks, before leaving him on the railway line to be hit by a train.
After killing the tot they left his body near the tracks where it was discovered two days later.
