Stacey Solomon welcomes boyfriend Joe Swash home with surprise

Stacey Solomon welcomes home DOI champ Joe Swash with surprise confetti cannons… as it’s revealed he beat Perri Kiely by just ONE percent

She was giddy with excitement when her boyfriend Joe Swash was crowned the winner of Dancing On Ice 2020 alongside his pro partner Alex Murphy on Sunday.

And Stacey Solomon couldn’t wait to welcome her beau home following his night of celebrations, as she decided to surprise him with confetti cannons.

The TV personality, 30, filmed herself hiding behind the door as she lay in wait for Joe to walk through the door of their family home.

Joe looked delighted and surprised as Stacey set off a confetti cannon in front of him, before giving him a big kiss to welcome him home.

She later prepared a ‘special dinner’ for him in celebration, but playfully mocked him for accompanying his lamb roast dinner with a dollop of mayonnaise.

Later in the evening the family, including Stacey’s children Zachary, 11, and Leighton, seven cosied up for a sweet selfie on the sofa following their reunion.

Throughout the day Stacey updated her followers with Joe’s movements, as she expressed her excitement that he was returning to their family unit.

The family’s excitement built to the point where they wanted to continue celebrating Joe’s win and later refilled the confetti cannon to let it off again.

Stacey hid behind the bathroom boys while presumably one of the boys opened the door ahead of the release, while an unnamed Joe sat brushing his teeth.

Stacey captioned the clip: ‘The boys wanted to do the confetti cannon again. So we filled it back up and as you can see Hoe LOVED it. [crying laughing face emoji]’

Stacey couldn’t contain her as joy she celebrated her partner Joe’s surprise Dancing On Ice victory on Sunday night.

She was giddy with excitement as she filmed the aftermath of the skating competition’s grand final, which saw Joe, 38, and his dance partner Alex Murphy narrowly beat bookies’ favourites Perri Kiely and Vanessa Bauer.

But Stacey wasn’t feeling quite so jubilant the next day, joking she was in a ‘Monday mood’ when she woke up bright and early with baby Rex, 21 months.

She posted a snap of herself in bed with baby Rex and her son Zachary, 11.

It wasn’t long before Leighton, seven, joined them, prompting doting mother Stacey to film her boys showering the youngest member of the family with kisses.

The night before, Stacey was brimming with joy as she thanked their fans for their unwavering support.

Joking she’d ‘had to have a little lay down (sic)’ to get over the shock, Stacey shared a sweet snap of herself celebrating with Joe and baby Rex, lying on the floor together on Sunday night.

She wrote: ‘Honestly can’t believe it… Hoe [her joke pet name for Joe] did it! How did this happen? Seriously though… to anyone who voted, thank you.

‘It meant the world to him and to us. We are so proud of you Joe. We love you.’

Stacey went on to film her excited reaction to the news, giggling with delight as she discussed how much it means to them as a family.

‘We are home… We left Hoe at the wrap party so he can have some fun! I really want to say thank you by the way’, the Loose Women star enthused.

‘Honestly, I still can’t believe it! Bless him, he worked so hard. He put everything into it, his heart and soul.

Joe and pro figure skater Alex were announced as the series champions on Sunday night.

This year’s Dancing on Ice ended up being one of the most expensive shows for UK bookies as they failed to react in time.

A Mybettingsites.co.uk spokesperson said: ‘Having been the frontrunner for quite some time, Perri was the bookies favourites up until just an hour before the live final but as the support for Joe kept on pouring in, bookmakers decided to slash his odds, making Joe the new favourite.

‘However, it was too late in the day to allow bookmakers to mitigate their losses.’

‘It’s safe to say that it was the bookies that ended up being the biggest losers during this year’s Dancing on Ice.’

The star battled through a head injury, for which he had to wear a bandage over his ears during the week’s rehearsals, to perfect his routines.

Joe and Alex finished off their performances with the Boléro – the routine that won Dancing On Ice head judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean gold at the Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympics.

This followed Paralympian Libby Clegg and her pro partner Mark Hanretty’s axing from the show earlier in the evening, coming in third place overall.
