THERE is nothing more satisfying than a squeaky clean home – and we love a good cleaning hack as much as anyone.
But sometimes you have to go to extreme measures to get the best results, which often means thinking outside the box.
One mum was so impressed by her new washing method that she couldn't wait to share with her fellow cleaning-obsessed Facebook pals.
Posting to the Facebook group, Mums Who Clean, the mum showed the results of strip washing her daughter's toy dog, and shared a photo the child's toy soaking in a sink filled with dirty, murky water – and just to be clear, the water WAS clean before putting the toy in to soak.
Taking to the group, the mum excitedly shared: "I just wanted to let you all know….I tried stripping for the first time last night! I did it on my daughter's stuffed dog and everybody was so impressed! You guys have converted me! I'm now a full time Stripper aka. Strip Washer."
And while many applauded her for jumping on the "strip washing" band wagon, many others were left wondering what strip washing ACTUALLY was.
The method of strip washing is much like soaking, however, the results are far more satisfying – according to fellow "strip washers".
While people prefer to tweak their method occasionally, it usually consists of adding washing powder, baking soda and Borax to a very hot tub of water, then, after the water turns cold, running the item through the wash – and mums are raving about it.
Before even seeing the end result, the dirty water was enough to reveal just how much dirt toy was storing.
Alongside the new and improved toy dog, the excited mum posted: "Doggie is almost 9 years old! He was looking like roadkill before I stripped him back to life.
She added: "Now I understand that "squeaky clean" is an actual thing! Strip Wash actually makes things feel squeaky. Has anyone else noticed that?"
After learning of the new method, one person wrote:"I want to strip wash everything Hahahaha"
While a second wrote: "I also did my first strip wash on my daughters chef clothes and it worked wonders!!!!!"
With a third person adding: "Soaked my sons 'sookie' (silky, blanket) and was horrified of the amount of dark brown almost black water left in the bucket. Have washed it many times over since his birth and never expected that much filth to be trapped in it still."
We also revealed how this mum removed deep scratches from her hob using a £1 paste from The Range.
Plus this cleaning-obsessed mum reveals how to get your oven racks gleaming in minutes using fabric softener.
And for more incredible cleaning hacks, this thrifty mum praised B&Q's "game-changing" £4 glue remover which got rid of sticky stains on her floor in seconds.
