THERE was heartbreak at Lingfield as all weather star Kachy was sadly put down.
Tom Dascombe's hero was pulled up early in the six furlong sprint and slowly the news filtered through that he'd lost his life.
The Dave Lowe-owned seven-year-old was making his seasonal reappearance after being pulled out of his intended target two weeks ago at the last minute.
Kachy needed to win at Lingfield to ensure he qualified for the All Weather Championship Finals back at Lingfield on Good Friday.
Trainer Tom Dascombe and jockey Richard Kingscote were understandably visibly upset at Lingfield.
Owner Dave Lowe tweeted: "RIP Big Fella. You were our world and will be missed forever."
