  • Kate and William news: Duke and Duchess urged to visit Australia

For the occasion, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge co-ordinated in matching navy outfits.

The Duchess opted for a chic navy military-style jacket and matching skirt while Prince William opted for a sleek navy suit and tie.

The chic jacket is from one of her favourite British designers, Alexander McQueen which is currently sold out but previously retailed for £1,180.

The jacket is military-inspired in a peplum style adorned with “metal mythical decorative buttons” on the waist and collar, according to the Alexander McQueen website.

The jacket also possesses peaked shoulders that move into fitted long sleeves.

According to the website, the jacket also has concealed button fastenings running down the centre front.

The chic jacket is high necked which is perfect for keeping the chilly weather at bay and is cinched in the middle which helped to accentuate her petite waist.

She paired the jacket with a matching flowing maxi skirt which falls to just above her ankles, that then showed off her killer black suede high-heeled boots.

She chose to keep her makeup natural for the visit, opting for slight brushing of blush across her cheeks, tinted lipgloss, and a generous lashing of mascara.

The Duchess of Cambridge kept her jewellery minimal, only opting for a pair of silver drop earrings and her enormous sapphire engagement ring.

She did, however, opt to carry a tiny purse in her hand as well as a pair of navy leather gloves.

  • The eye-watering taxpayer sum Kate and William spend on travel

Charles, Camilla, William and Kate will be given a tour of the facility by its commanding officer Captain Alison Hofman, visiting some of the therapy areas, to meet patients undergoing gym rehab sessions, and the prosthetics workshop.

William, who was the Patron of the DNRC appeal, attended the official handover of the newly built defence centre to the nation in June 2018.

Once the tour is complete, the Prince is set to attend a reception to launch the Midlands chapter of the British Asian Trust, in his role as the organisation’s founding patron.

While the Duchess, who is president of Royal Voluntary Service (RVS), will visit Leicester General Hospital to take part in the RVS’ Big Trolley Push recruitment campaign, where she will be joined by West End musical star Elaine Paige.

Later in the day, Charles and Camilla will visit the city’s centre to meet stallholders and members of a local women’s charity, then attend a performance by local schoolchildren to celebrate the diversity of the city and unveil a commemorative plaque in the new market square.

The latest outing comes amid news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to “visits Australia to meet victims of the devastating bushfires.”

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to travel Down Under later this year to offer their support to communities affected.

They are said to be “shocked and deeply saddened” by the scale of the natural disaster, which began last autumn and has continued to burn its way through the country.

It is understood that representatives for William, 37, and Kate, 38, are in talks with Scott Morrison, Australia’s prime minister, to fine-tune details before he extends an official invitation to the royal couple.

A tour could take them to New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, and the Daily Mail report it may cost the country’s taxpayers £500,000 in transport, accommodation and logistics.
