A mum was sent a message telling her 'you aren't f***ing sane' from a party host after sending her son to the event dressed as a ballerina.
Her boy had been invited to the party with a theme of 'ballerinas or pirates', and the mum opted for the ballerina choice as her son already dances.
She says they are part of a very friendly community and no comments have been made about his chosen hobby.
Her son dressed in his usual leotard, shorts, tights and ballet slippers, and they headed to the party where she says he got nothing but compliments from other parents.
The other children attending were simply excited to see him and none of them made any comments on his outfit.

She was then shocked to receive a message from the birthday girl's mum reading: "So! You really had to put Joseph in something else didn't you!
"Why couldn't you stick to the theme? I think it's just unfair, if I'm honest. Not impressed.
"You aren't f***ing sane."
Writing on Mumsnet , she asked if she was being unreasonable to dress her son how she did, and to think the mum judging her must have been drinking.
"ll be honest and say I'm annoyed at her text but really quite nervous to see her again at the nursery," she said.
"What baffles me the most is we arrived with a friend whose daughter wore a princess outfit and friend explained the situation that she just put on what she could grab. The woman who's text me [the birthday girl's mum] just laughed and said not to worry at all.
"I assume she didn't say anything to me right then as [my son] still had his coat on when he arrived."

Other mums on the forum came to her defence, as one wrote: "I would ask her what bit of the ballet dancers and pirate theme you didn’t adhere to."
Another replied: "I wouldn’t reply and would avoid the woman completely. Sounds psychotic."
A third said: "That is very unkind. I wouldn't dignify it with an answer and just blank her from now on."
