Love Island’s Paige Turley apologises to ex Lewis Capaldi for being a ‘b***h’ after she cheated on him with best mate – The Sun

LOVE Island newbie Paige Turley apologised to ex Lewis Capaldi for being a "b***h" as she arrived in the villa.

The Sun exclusively revealed the glam Scot cheated on the singer with his best mate, inspiring his biggest hit to date.

And speaking about her relationship with Lewis in her VT, Paige said: "I'm Paige, I'm 22 and a singer from West Lothian.

"I'd describe myself as loud and flamboyant.

"One of my ex boyfriends isLewis Capaldi. According to the papers his song Some One You Loved was about me.

"Lewis, I'm so sorry I must have been a b***h" to you."

The singer dated the pretty blonde for more than a year after they met in college, but it emerged Paige had an affair with Garry Greig, one of Lewis’s closest friends.

Sources say it was her romance with aspiring singer Garry, 26, who has appeared on The X Factor, that prompted Paige to dump Lewis.

One told The Sun on Sunday: “Paige pretends to be a nice girl but within months of dating Lewis, she was cheating with Garry, one of his best friends.

“All three of them were touring the music circuit at the time and Paige had dated Garry before she began seeing Lewis. He knew they had a history.

“But he had no idea that Paige was seeing Garry while they were together and, as far as we know, still doesn’t.

“Lewis adored Paige and, at that time, he would have done anything for her. But she obviously didn’t feel the same or she wouldn’t have betrayed him.

“Those of us who knew what was going on felt she was pretty heartless.

“Eventually, she dumped Lewis and began officially dating Garry instead, leaving Lewis absolutely devastated. He really thought they had a future.

“This will be a real twist of the knife for him when he finds out.”

The Sun revealed last week that Paige had signed up to ITV2’s Winter Love Island, filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, which kicks off tonight at 9pm.

It will be hosted by Laura Whitmore, 34, after regular presenter Caroline Flack, 40, was accused of hitting her boyfriend Lewis Burton on the head at her Islington flat in December.

Paige and Garry — who narrowly missed out on being a member of One Direction after auditioning for ITV’s The X Factor in 2010 — started seeing each other in 2015.

The romance quickly ran its course and Paige began dating Lewis, then an unknown.

But, within months, Paige had secretly rekindled her relationship with the former window fabricator, while continuing to date unsuspecting Lewis, now 23.

The source went on: “You would have thought that given how close Lewis and Garry were at the time, Paige might have decided to draw a line there.

“But clearly she didn’t have an issue with dating two pals at the same time

“After splitting up with Lewis in 2016, she and Garry went on to date until earlier this year. But the relationship has been rocky since last summer.

"Now Paige is single, she is obviously hoping to find love in the villa in South Africa. But the lads need to be careful about trusting her.”

The Sun on Sunday revealed in November that Britain’s Got Talent wannabe Paige was Lewis’s inspiration after he fell “head over heels” for her while college students in Motherwell, North Lanarks.

Their split was said to have left Lewis “gutted” and prompted him to channel his heartache through Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent — the fastest-selling debut album of 2019.

Lewis, from Whitburn, West Lothian, has remained tight-lipped about his former love’s identity.

But quizzed about heartbreak, he previously said: “I met a lady. She was very nice. I loved her.

“I loved the look of her and I loved how she spoke.

“We dated for a year and a half, then she left me. Then I wrote an album about it and I still think about it every day.”

Meanwhile, keen singer Paige — who got to the BGT semi-finals in 2012 after wowing judges including Simon Cowell with her rendition of Bon Iver’s Skinny Love — opened up about the relationship this week, claiming Lewis was not a natural charmer.

She said: “He’s terrible with women. He never had a chat-up line as such, as we went through college together.

"I kind of just fell into it. It was never like he tried to chat me up or such.

“There was never a moment where I could go, ‘Oh, that was the turning point’. It was just friendship-level and then . . .”

Paige revealed last week she hadn’t warned Lewis she was to be on Love Island, but added: “I think Lewis will find the fact I’m on the show funny.

“You never know, he might even vote. Me and Lewis are still very, very friendly. You’ve seen his social media. He’s a very witty, funny guy, so he’ll probably make a total joke about it.”

On her romance with Garry, Paige insisted she dated him “a few years ago, when I was quite young”. And she added: “It was before Lewis.”

But the source added: “Lewis is pretty p***ed off about Love Island and that Paige has used his name and is talking about him for the show.

“He feels she is using his name to cash in on fame.”

A source close to Paige denied she had cheated on Lewis and added: “Paige dated Garry when she was a teenager, prior to her relationship with Lewis.”

Garry declined to comment.
