Fans were ‘100 per cent’ convinced The Masked Singer’s Queen Bee was Girls’ Aloud star Nicola Roberts as the show returned to TV screens on Saturday.
Hundreds of viewers flooded Twitter to express their certainty Nicola, 34, was the star under the bee mask- but judge Davina McCall guessed it was Nadine Coyle.
The Queen Bee revealed she was a ‘lawmaker’, leading to fan speculation she was the Girls’ Aloud star.

However, Davina said she thought the Queen Bee could actually be Nicola’s bandmate Nadine, after the performance of Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi.
She said: ‘What girl band singers are activists? I was thinking, you know Girls’ Aloud? Nadine Coyle!’
Viewers took to social media with screenshots from Nicola’s Wikipedia page proving she had been an activist in both anti-tanning and anti-bullying campaigns.
One said: ‘Queen Bee is 100% Nicola Roberts. She helped pass a law so that under 18s can’t sunbed, and banging her drum referring to ‘Beat of My Drum’ – love her! #maskedsinger.’
Another added: ‘More convinced that Queen Bee is Nicola Roberts after the ‘lawmaker’ clue – she helped campaign for the law that banned under 18s from using tanning beds #maskedsinger.’

In the intro video for the concealed character, they said: ‘I was quite young when I began my career. Being so young, people liked to confine me to one type of beehive.
‘I guess you can say I’ve always been a bit of a wild card. Coming to The Masked Singer, I feel free to be myself. No one knows who I am, it’s very liberating.
‘Now I feel like I’ve grown up, I’m no longer a princess, I’m a queen. So roll out the red carpet, because tonight, we’re going to have a ball.’

Davina McCall speculated that the subject could have been in a royal drama before Rita Ora piped up and said ‘oh my God it might be my friend, Charlie XCX.’
Queen Bee then sang Alive by another masked singer, Sia, with Jonathan Ross remarking that she has ‘a good voice’.
‘I just think I recognise the voice but I just don’t know where from,’ he added.
Queen Bee showed no problem with the high notes. It was in fact the judges who were struggling, with Rita slapping the table and exclaiming ‘who is that?!’ before suggesting that it might even be Kylie Minogue.
She then received a standing ovation from the crowd, Davina and Hangover star Ken Jeong, while Rita and Jonathan looked baffled.
A clue was given when the character suggested that out of her friends she is ‘joker of the pack,’ delivered in what sounded like a US accent.
Davina guessed it could be English actress Emilia Clarke from Game of thrones while Jonathan suggested it may be Ozzy Margot Robbie and Ken gave a detailed explanation as to why he thinks it’s The Crown’s Olivia Colman, also English.

The character said that the panel’s guesses were ‘all over the place’ while Twitter seemed certain.
‘#MaskedSinger Queen bee = Charlotte Church!’ wrote one user, while another added: ‘I think Queen Bee is almost definitely Charlotte Church.’
A third added that it is ‘nailed on’ that the performer is the Welsh songstress.
‘I’d say Queen bee is Charlotte Church, party girl when she was younger and she has a great voice! Love it!’ another added.
‘Calling it now. QUEEN BEE is Charlotte Church,’ said another.
Church’s musical break came at age 11 when she sang Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Pie Jesu’ over the telephone on This Morning in 1997, followed by her performance on ITV’s Big, Big Talent Show in 1997.
The bizarre series sees twelves celebrities concealed under an eccentric costume until they are voted out.
