Queen Elizabeth and other senior royals have ordered courtiers to find a “workable solution” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s futures within the royal family — following the pair’s bombshell decision to distance themselves from the British monarchy.
The queen, along with her son Prince Charles and grandson Prince William, have asked aides to work “at pace” with the Sussex household and come to a determination in “days, not weeks,” The Evening Standard reported.
Meanwhile — immediately after the couple’s Wednesday revelation that they would step down as senior royals — Meghan returned to Canada to be with the couple’s 8-month old son Archie, who was staying with his nanny.
Harry stayed behind in the UK, likely to face his family’s wrath.
The couple had flown from Vancouver back to the UK after their holiday vacation there to drop the news that blindsided the royal family.
The couple announced that they wanted to make their own money, adding they will now split their time between the UK and North America — while “continuing to honor our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.”
Critics lambasted the couple as they continued to accept money from British taxpayers.
