While she may have only been introduced in the second season of You on Netflix, Delilah Alves (played by Carmela Zumbado) quickly cemented herself as one of the show’s most popular characters. Therefore, her death at the end of episode eight sent shockwaves through viewers around the globe. The mystery of who killed Delilah was the basis for the final few episodes but could Joe have just used a nanny cam to discover her murderer? Could Joe have used a nanny cam to find out who killed Delilah?

In the seventh episode of season two, Delilah’s suspicions of Joe began to boil over.
She broke into Joe’s apartment to do some snooping where she found the keys to the storage unit where Joe had built his signature cage.
Delilah soon headed to the unit where she was stunned to discover the sadistic structure he had built.
As she began to panic, Joe arrived to foil her plans, revealing he had used a nanny cam to find out she was at the storage unit.

However, some fans think he could have used the nanny cam to discover who killed Delilah instead of heading on a wild goose chase in the final two episodes.
On Twitter, one perplexed fan wrote: “Didn’t he say he has a nanny cam installed when Delilah broke into his cage???? Why couldn’t he use that to find out who the killer was!!!!”
A second also thought they’d spotted the plot hole, saying: “It’s infuriating asf [as f***] that Joe ain’t using the nanny cam to figure out the murder. The SAME ONE that he used to catch Delilah creepin’.”
While a third echoed: “I want to know why he didn’t check his nanny cam for who killed Delilah.”
However, it turns out there is a simple explanation as to why Joe couldn’t use the nanny cam and, therefore, avoid a plot a hole in the story.
While Joe did use a hidden camera to find out Delilah was in the storage unit, it was only because he saw her take the keys in his apartment.
Joe never actually said he had a nanny cam installed in the storage unit where Delilah was killed.
He clears up any confusion as to where the nanny cam actually is in the seventh episode.
When he stumbled across Delilah in the unit, he said: “I got a nanny cam in my apartment when my crazy ex broke in.
“I was gonna ask if you wanted to have dinner tonight until I saw you’d already been by and found some keys.”
Therefore, he could not have used the nanny cam as it was installed in the storage unit where Delilah was murdered by Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti).
However, there are a few plot holes to emerge from season two of You, including the mystery of Joe’s finger.

Joe had a finger on his right hand cut off by Jasper (Steven W Bailey) early on in the season but it appeared to be good as new towards the final episodes with no explanation as to how he had it reattached or any sign of healing.
Several fans spotted the blunder, with one saying: “Wait did Joe’s finger just grow back?”
A second said: “They just completely disregarded Joe’s completely severed finger. Fixing that would have taken reconstructive surgery with months of rehab. #YouOnNetflix.”
While a third added: “Did they just forget about Joe’s finger mid-season? #YOUSEASON2.”
