Sharon Osbourne, 67, has found herself on the wrong side of fans after her appearance on BBC’s Would I Lie To You. She admitted to telling the truth that she once fired her assistant after sending him into her burning house to retrieve some artwork and her pets, and the tale received a wave of negative reactions, with people branding her as “vile”.
So then, I just said ‘If you don’t think that’s funny, do you think this is funny?’ And he said, ‘What?’ And I said, ‘You’re fired

She recalled the unfortunate fire that happened in her and husband, musician Ozzy Osbourne’s mansion over Christmas one year, while the assistant slept in the guest house.
She had sent Ozzy down to investigate after the fire alarms began ringing, which was later found out to be started by a candle.
Ozzy suffered burns to his arms and hair and was later shoved into a fountain by Sharon to “put him out.”
After detailing her husband’s traumatic account, she then set about describing what happened next.
“Then I think ‘Right, where is that assistant?’” she said.

“So, I go into the guest house and he’s going, ‘Everything Alright?’ and I’m like ‘No, house is on fire. Get out, help. Go in and get the paintings out.’”
Her fellow panelists looked bewildered at her logic as team captain David Mitchell, joked: “That’s a personal assistant’s number one job, go into a burning building and get the art out!”
She continued: “There were dogs, and I said ‘You must go in and find the dogs.’
“So he was like umming and erring this EX assistant,” she recalled.
She then described the moment the fire engines arrived and they rushed to give the assistant oxygen after he returned from rescuing her dogs.
“They came and they had this oxygen for the assistant. So then I said to him ‘How very dare you, you work here, and you get more paintings out right now.’”
“I took the mask and I put it on my dog!” Sharon said, which earned applause and laughter from the judges and audience.
With the studio in pure disbelief, she went on to explain the moment she decided to fire her husband’s assistant for “not having a sense of humour”.
“After this terrible night, he was not talking to me,” she said of the assistant.
“Ozzy and I were counting everything and we were laughing and laughing and he goes ‘I don’t see what’s funny about any of this. I think I am going to have damaged lungs.’”

“So then, I just said ‘If you don’t think that’s funny, do you think this is funny?’ And he said, ‘What?’ And I said, ‘You’re fired,’” Sharon recalled, again sending the audience and guests into hysterics.
And when it was time for the panel to guess whether the shocking story was true or false, all three of the opposing team predicted it was true — which Sharon confirmed.
Following the revelation, fans flocked to social media to express their disappointment in the former X Factor judge.
“What a vile human being,” one quipped.
“I have to say @MrsSOsbourne that if my dogs and stuff meant that much to me, I wouldn’t be waiting for someone else to go save them. AND, if cared so little that I weren’t willing to save them, I would not have endangered any other lives to do so,” a second said.
A third exclaimed: “If I were this staffer I would sue. I would’ve sued the day after that happened.”
