Ghislaine Maxwell 'has so much dirt on powerful people she thinks she'll escape prosecution and return to high society'

GHISLAINE Maxwell has so much "dirt" on the rich and powerful she believes she will escape prosecution and return to her high society party life once "the dust has settled", according to a pal of Jeffrey Epstein's alleged madam.

The Brit socialite, accused of procuring underaged girls for billionaire paedophile Epstein, remains "totally convinced" that she can stay in hiding and eventually clear her name.

Ghislaine is apparently so brazen that she's texting friends while being hidden by rich associates, a world away from the Brit socialite's normal high life in the US, according to friend Laura Goldman.

Laura, who's also pals with Ghislaine's sister Isabel, told Sun Online: "Ghislaine and her sister Isabel remain totally convinced that she'll escape any criminal convictions and will eventually clear the family name and return to high society once the dust has settled.

"She has wealthy connections who hide her and even pay some legal fees. She can stay out of the public eye as long as she wants.

"Ghislaine is so confident that she'll be back that she's still texting friends in different social circles while she's in hiding.

"She's doesn't think that she did anything wrong.

"She obviously has some serious dirt on someone to be so sure of herself in the circumstances."

Laura, who has previously described Ghislaine as "sex-obsessed" and claimed she had even managed to find herself a new boyfriend while in hiding, says the accused pimp was "head over heels in love" with Epstein.

She believed this may be why she wrongly believed that by procuring enough young and underage girls for him she would finally win him back to her.

But by the time Epstein committed suicide earlier this year Ghislaine was "relieved" as it meant that she no longer faced the threat that he could land her in trouble.

"She was more relieved than anything. It may have placed her more in the spotlight but at least he couldn't turn on her," Laura claimed.

Epstein's 57-year old alleged pimp was seen as such a power broker that she always used to brag that it was her who first introduced Donald Trump to his wife Melania.

The US Presidential couple have repeatedly been pictured partying with Ghislaine and Epstein.

Laura, who remained in the same social circles as the Maxwell sisters who she met in the 90s, said: "She always bragged that it was her who fixed them up. It was one of her favourite boasts."

And Ghislaine still "adores" sex offender Epstein's former pal Prince Andrew.

She sees him as the man who got her accepted back into high society after her father Robert Maxwell's controversial death, and has even remained in touch with him whilst in hiding.

She added: "She adores Prince Andrew, they're still in touch now, but she won't come out of hiding, even for him.

"She'd only reveal herself if it was in her best interest, which it isn't yet. So she'll be staying out of the limelight for now and leaving him to fend for himself, despite her huge affection for him and the fact that she could have taken some of the heat off him recently."

Ghislaine and her family have kept a low profile since the arrest of Epstein, who was found dead in his US jail cell in August awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Her father was disgraced newspaper tycoon Robert who died after falling from his yacht nearly 30 years ago as the banks he owed £4 billion to circled in on him.

Ghislaine has always denied any wrongdoing.
