A British quad biker who raced for Team GB has died in a “violent” accident while competing on a Romanian track dubbed ‘Killer Hill’.
Katie Hodgson was racing in the annual event, Hunt the Wolf, when she fell from her vehicle on April 11.
The 24-year-old suffered multiple injuries when the back wheels of her Can-Am Renegade started to lift causing the bike to topple on to her.
She was airlifted to a nearby hospital but sadly died on her journey there, Hull Live reports.
Post-mortem examinations conducted in Romania and Hull concluded that Katie had died after suffering an intra-abdominal haemorrhage due to a ruptured right kidney caused by the quad bike accident.

At an inquest into her death held at Hull Coroners' Court, Katie’s family and her partner, Richard Freestone, described her as a “confident rider” who was “full of guts”.
Katie grew up in the East Yorkshire village of Tibthorpe and attended Driffield School and Sixth Form. She was a keen horse rider who studied equestrianism at Bishop Burton College.
Her other passion was quad-biking and she began racing competitively from the age of 18, competing nationwide and for Team GB.
After her tragic death, the Team GB quad biking team was renamed Team Katie 141 Racing in her memory.
In a statement, Katie’s family said: “She was laid-back but full of guts. She enjoyed working with animals and was very creative.
Her partner Richard Freestone, who competed alongside Katie and witnessed the horrifying accident, paid tribute at the time of her death describing Katie as a “true Yorkshire lass full of passion and love”.
HM senior coroner Paul Marks concluded that Katie’s death was the result of an accident.
