Antarctica mystery as Google Earth user spots 'flying craft' hovering over snow

A Google Earth user believes he has found a flying craft with “intelligent design” above Antarctica.

YouTube user MrMBB333 uploaded his video yesterday of what appeared to be an object hovering over the side of a hill.

“Something looks like it is floating in the air between the rocky embankment and the steep wall of ice,” he exclaims.

When he zooms in, the “object” seems to be grey in colour and adopts a flying saucer

“There’s a shadow there [from the mountain], this is down by the shadow, but it’s reflecting ice,” he continues.

“So it’s not sitting on the snow or ice or the rocky soil – it’s in the air.

“Whatever that is is reflective and it has density.

“It’s tilted at a slightly different angle and looks like a flying craft – there’s no other way to describe it.”

The strange object may have just been simply a mound in the snow which had picked up some light.

But – after more than 6,000 people saw the video posted on December 5 – many agreed with MrMBB333’s views.

“It looks like a Millennium Falcon,” one user wrote, referencing the famed spaceship in the Star Wars franchise.

Another wrote: “This is very intriguing for me because it really does look like it's flying.

There were some, though, who had more logical explanations.

One sceptical viewer suggested it was “clearly a part of the eroded ice sheet”.

Another suggested it was the mound of a volcano.

It is not the only mysterious sight to have been found in the South Pole in recent months.

Back in August, bizarre footage surfaced apparently showing the “gigantic statue of a face” emerging from the snow.

And in October, what appeared to be a huge skull was found poking out of the ice.
