Sky TV unleashes ultimate Christmas upgrade: Get Sky Sports, movies and more for FREE

Ho-Ho-How would you like free access to Sky Sports, two free films from Sky Cinema, and unlimited free calls to landlines and mobiles across Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The festive upgrade is being dished-out by Sky to anyone who is already subscribed to the hugely-popular TV service.

Sky viewers will be able to access all eight Sky Sports channels across Christmas Day and Boxing Day – so they will be able to watch all of the Boxing Day fixtures, as well as the Darts World Championships on December 27 and the Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich match on December 28.

If sport isn’t your bag, not to worry. Sky also has free movies in its sleigh. Subscribers will be able to watch How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World on Sky One, as well as download Love Actually for free anytime between December 4 until December 31. Perfect for a cosy movie night-in during the chilly December evenings.

And if you’re so excited about all this free stuff that you just absolutely have to pick-up the phone and call your lost-lost aunt in Australia about it, then you’re in luck. Sky is also gifting its Sky Talk subscribers with free worldwide calls to landlines and mobile phones on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, so you can spread a little festive cheer, wish loved ones well – without having to worry about racking up an eye-watering bill.

Elsewhere, Sky Mobile customers get unlimited data on Christmas Day and Boxing Day – so if the Wi-Fi is struggling to stream with the entire family connecting new gadgets, watching video on-demand services, and making FaceTime calls to far-flung relatives – you shouldn’t worry about switching over to a 4G connection instead.

Unfortunately, this particular perk only applies to the UK, with Channel Islands and Isle of Man excluded. So, be aware before you start streaming the entire Lord Of The Rings extended trilogy box set in 4K from your smartphone mistakenly believing you’ve got unlimited data for the day.

Sky says the idea behind the colossal Christmas giveaway was inspired by its E.T. inspired holiday advertisement. In a statement, the company said: “the gifts will bring everyone together this Christmas, whether that’s reconnecting with family on the other side of the world or spending quality time together in front of a great movie.

“And our customers don’t have to lift a finger.”
