Christmas came early this year for Mariah Carey, as the music legend broke three Guinness World Records.
Carey was honored for her record for the highest-charting holiday (Christmas/New Year) song on the Billboard Hot 100 by a solo artist, with her holiday hit, “All I Want for Christmas is You.”
Carey was presented with her record title certificate and a copy of the Guinness World Records 2020 edition by official adjudicator, Michael Empric, during her holiday concert in Las Vegas last Saturday.
The holiday hit also earned the most streamed female track on Spotify in 24 hours (10,819,009 streams in December 2018) and most weeks (20) in the U.K. singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song.
The song made its debut 25 years ago as the lead single for Carey’s fourth studio album, Merry Christmas, which was re-released last month in a special holiday deluxe edition.
