Police and fire crews are called to an ‘acid attack’ at a Sainsbury’s in Borough Market just two days after terrorist struck on nearby London Bridge

An acid attack has taken place by Borough Market today, just yards from the horrific terror attack on London Bridge 48 hours ago which rocked the capital as Londoners remain on high alert.
Witnesses said it took place just outside a Sainsbury’s and police cars and fire engines rushed to the scene to douse the teenager with water.
A witness said on Twitter that ‘nowhere feels safe’ after the string of violence this week in London.

Another said: ‘Acid attack at Sainsbury #borough high street now. Just happened as we were in KFC next door.
‘Big emergency services presence. Could be triggering, best avoid if in area.’
MPS Southwark confirmed the attack, saying: ‘Police approached at 15:37hrs near Borough High Street, by teenager who reported that he had been sprayed with a substance.
‘LAS & LFB attended. Victim not believed to have suffered any injuries. Enquiries continue to determine what the substance is. No arrests at this stage.’
It is the second act of violence to rock London in 48 hours after terrorist Usman Khan stabbed five people, killing two, on London Bridge on Friday.
Borough Market was also targeted by terrorists in the London Bridge attacks of 2017.
