SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: George Michael’s family evict his lover Fadi Fawaz from the late Wham! star’s £5million pad and let it for £75,000
SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE The three-year feud between Wham! star George Michael’s family and his on-off lover, Fadi Fawaz, has finally been resolved.
Fawaz refused to leave the singer’s £5 million house off London’s Regent’s Park following his sudden death aged 53 — and was arrested after allegedly ‘going berserk’ and ‘smashing up’ the property this summer.
Now I can disclose that the three-bedroom, four-bathroom house, which lies at the end of a private, cobbled gated mews, has been restored to spotless condition and has just been let for £1,450 a week — or little over £75,000 a year — by Michael’s family, who evicted Fawaz after a protracted legal battle.

It was on Christmas Day 2016 that Fawaz, an Australian of Lebanese descent, found Michael unconscious in bed at his 16th-century manor house in Goring, Oxfordshire.
‘He’s gone. He’s blue,’ he told the operator in a recorded 999 call which was subsequently leaked.
Later it emerged that Fawaz had not slept in the house that night but had remained in his car.
The couple met after the Wham! star parted in 2009 from Texan art dealer Kenny Goss, who had been Michael’s lover for more than a decade.

Michael had by then pleaded guilty to a number of drug-related offences, and in 2010 received an eight-week prison sentence and a five-year driving ban after crashing his car into a shop in Hampstead, North London, after enjoying himself at a Gay Pride parade.
Three years later, in May 2013, the Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go singer fell from a car travelling at 70mph on the M1.
He and Fawaz were first pictured together walking hand-in-hand in 2015 in Switzerland where Michael was reportedly being treated at the £190,000-a-month Kusnacht Practice — the world’s most expensive rehab clinic. But when, this summer, the singer’s will was published, Fawaz went unmentioned.
Instead, Michael left most of his £98 million fortune to his sisters Melanie and Yioda, with additional bequests to his father Kyriacos, and to charities and friends.

Life imitates art as Daisy sees double at exhibition
The eyes might be the window to the soul but model Daisy Lowe likes to express herself through other means.
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, 30, has been immortalised by artist Tomas Baleztena and this week posed with her oil-on-canvas portrait at his exhibition, The London Method, in St James’s.
Emulating the picture, in which her eyes are closed and her decolletage is on full display, Daisy shared the image online. ‘I am so honoured to have been painted by such an extraordinary artist. Thank you for choosing me Tomas,’ she captioned it.
‘I love being a part of your very special show.’
Forget the usual diplomatic reflections on the past year, Her Majesty should really let rip in this year’s Queen’s Christmas Message, says Jeremy Paxman.
‘Wouldn’t it be wonderful if she said, ‘Much of my year was ruined by politicians. I cannot imagine what a bunch of Charlies we must look like to the rest of the world,’ ‘ the broadcaster muses.
‘But she won’t, of course — for two very good reasons. Firstly, she’s a canny old bird who doesn’t talk politics.
And secondly, the thing is actually recorded in advance — and if she were going to let fly, we’d already know.’
Globe-trotter Poppy parties with her Pa
Poppy Delevingne, who has been setting up her new home in LA, is a daddy’s girl at heart.
After a lengthy stint abroad, the 33-year-old model was happily reunited with her property developer father Charles this week at the launch of Alice Naylor-Leyland’s tableware business at Mark’s Club, Mayfair.
One benefit of globe-trotting is that Poppy is now a travel expert. ‘I fight jet lag by taking melatonin tablets,’ she tells me. ‘And I’m the most organised packer in the world. I even laminate my lists, which is a bit embarrassing.’

Is Michael Heseltine, who is backing the Lib Dems, trying to persuade his fellow Tory grandees to betray their party? I spotted the peer plotting with ex-PM Sir John Major and Kenneth Clarke, who was stripped of the whip, while enjoying dinner together at Franco’s restaurant in St James’s on Tuesday evening.
‘It was like the Last Of The Summer Wine,’ says a fellow guest, referring to the classic BBC comedy. Surely ‘summer whine’, given the trio’s endless moaning about Brexit?
