Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) has been put through the ringer this past year in Coronation Street, after wife Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) was diagnosed with cervical cancer and given very little time to live. Several weeks back, she passed away with her family by her side, and Daniel was unable to cope. In the coming episodes, he continues to struggle, as Sinead is all he can think about — especially when he get reacquainted with his missing laptop.
After Sinead’s passing, Daniel founds himself struggling to cope. However, he’d promised Sinead that he’d look after Bertie, and thus he set off to get away from the street for a while.
Upon his return, he was left devastated to discover that his laptop — the very same laptop that contained the video messages that Sinead had recorded for both him and Bertie — had been stolen.
In the coming episodes, Carla (Alison King) and Peter (Chris Gascoyne) suggest that it would be a good idea for Daniel to take his mind off the missing laptop, but there’s little point in telling him so, as Craig (Colson Smith) later arrives at the flat with the stolen laptop in hand.
However, in spite of everything he went through to get it back, Daniel struggles to watch the videos.
As a result, Adam (Sam Robertson) offers to take care of Bertie for a while so that Daniel can have some alone time to watch the videos.
Eventually, Daniel presses play, and he’s incredibly emotional as he sees Sinead’s face on his laptop screen.
Later in the week, Ken (William Roache), Chesney (Sam Aston), and Adam all attempt to get Daniel to go out, but he just wants to be alone with Bertie so that he can watch Sinead’s videos one more.
One to watch: Friday 6thDecember at 7:30pm on ITV.
