Strictly Come Dancing 2019 contestant Kelvin Fletcher received a fair gasps from host, Claudia Winkleman and the audience as he chatted on the sofa alongside some of his fellow celebrities on Sunday night’s results show.
He was joined by his pro dance partner Oti Mabuse and rival contestant Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke.
After Claudia quizzed Emma and Anton about their dance for next Saturday, she turned to Kelvin and Oti.
The host asked about the trick Kelvin had played on his dad a week before Saturday’s show and was eager to know more.kelvin fletcher
“You did Northern Soul and you did it for your dad,” She said.
“And you played a trick on him. Can you expand?” She asked.

“At the beginning of the week, I said ‘dad they’ve asked if you’d dance at the start of the number’,” Kelvin revealed.
“You know, just five or ten seconds and he was like ‘yeah I will do’ and I’m thinking ‘you will?’”
“The only question he had was nothing to do with the dance, he said ‘what will I wear?’” The audience started giggling as Kelvin continued: “I said ‘costume will get you something but are you up for doing it’ and he was like ‘yeah I will!’”
“He went for a haircut, he even bought some talcum powder so he could put it on the dance floor and slide along.
“I let him go all week and my mum was in on it,” he confessed as the audience, Claudia and his fellow dancers all gasped in horror.
He continued: “To the point where he booked a day off work, he thought he was coming.”
Echo’s of sympathy rang out around the ballroom as the audience felt sorry for Mr Fletcher.
He said his dad was getting “excited” as Claudia told him off.
“You need to apologise officially to your father and say he can be part of the group next year that’s our fist booking,” the host demanded and the audience erupted with laughter.
The show played a clip of Kelvin’s dad dancing in his kitchen and the audience loved it.
“I’m sorry dad, I’m sorry!” The former Emmerdale actor blushed.

This week, Kelvin and Oti performed their couples choice dance to Do I Love You by Frank Wilson, which saw them incorporate an everyday kitchen into their performance.
And it was a hit with all four judges.
Head judge Shirley Ballas branded the performance “absolutely impeccable” as Bruno Tonioli admitted it was “his cup of tea”.
Motsi Mabuse said she “loved watching Kelvin dance” and even Craig Revel Horwood admitted he “absolutely loved” the free style dance outside of the kitchen space.
The couple ended up scoring an impressive 38 out of 40, just two points off the top mark, leaving them top the leaderboard.
Kelvin and Oti were sent through to the next week by fans watching at home, and the actor is still in the running as favourite to win the competition with his odds priced at 2-5.

Unfortunatley, it was the end of the line for one unlucky celebrity and this week, it fell on Saffron Barker and her parter AJ Pritchard’s shoulders.
They were eliminated after all four judges chose to save Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden who were also in the dance-off.
Speaking to The Sun following their exit, the couple said they had “begged” BBC bosses to let them skip the Samba, as AJ has been voted off twice in the past after performing the dance.
Alas, it wasn’t meant to be and the audience waved goodbye to the young dancers.
But who will go next week?
With only five celebrities left in the competition, can anyone call who will win?
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Saturday night.
