EastEnders fans in uproar as Phil discovers Sharon’s baby secret

Tonight's EastEnders saw the end of Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) – and the end of Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) being in the dark about Sharon's baby secret.

Sharon (Letitia Dean) watched as Mel was killed by a lorry, moments after she saved her from a burning car, after Mel walked back into the road.

But once she was back in Albert Square, Sharon had to endure more pain when Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) stormed over and accused her of being the reason Mel was dead.

Lisa exploded and told Phil that Sharon had killed Mel because she knew that Sharon's baby wasn't really his.

Luckily for Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), Mel never told Lisa that he is Sharon's baby daddy, so he's safe – for now.

But viewers were left in uproar after the big reveal, begging for the next episode already.

One said: "Phil definitely believes Lisa, even though Sharon will try to play it off. You can tell by his face a part of him knows there's truth to it."

A third tweeted: "Wasn't expecting Mel to die like that and for Lisa to tell everything at the end. Can't wait until Monday to see what happens and who Phil believes."

Someone else commented: "Ooh Lisa told Phil about the baby. Need the next episode now!"

And a fifth added: "Phil definitely believes Lisa about Sharon. The s*** is really going to hit the fan!"

After Lisa blurted out the truth, Sharon tried to discredit her, calling her unhinged among other things.

However Phil simply looked on in confusion as Sharon stormed upstairs.

But viewers have an extra long wait to find out what happens, as EastEnders is not on tomorrow night due to Children In Need.
