Lewis Capaldi’s exgirlfriend who inspired single starred on Britain’s Got Talent

The blonde bombshell ex-girlfriend of Scottish crooner Lewis Capaldi, the inspiration behind his smash hit Someone Like You, has been revealed as Paige Turley – a former Britain’s Got Talent contestant.

Paige and Lewis reportedly dated for a year after meeting at college in Motherwell, and he was said to be "madly in love" with the natural stunner.

Following the split, he wrote the emotional track, however stayed tight lipped about who the song was about.

Sources close to the pair say the superstar met the music student five years ago, and quickly fell "head over heels".

An insider confirmed to The Scottish Sun, Paige, who tried to make a name for herself on the talent competition aged 14, is the subject of Lewis' emotional loved-up ballads.

The schoolgirl performed Bon Iver’s Skinny Love for the judging panel on the show, and quickly bowled over Simon Cowell with her vocal range.

She also sang at Glasgow’s Hydro, and the former couple appeared on the same line-up for T in the Clachan a few years ago.

“Both Paige and Lewis are really talented.

“She’s a great singer in her own right. She has impressed Simon Cowell on BGT and played at Glasgow’s Hydro", a source told the publication.

They said: "She’s the girl. The song and his album is clearly inspired by love and he loved her — he really did.

"Paige dated Lewis while they were both at college from around 2014 to 2016. They were on and off and together just over a year. It’s funny that his songs now mean so much to so many. But the real story behind it is boy meets girl."

Another friend added: "They had a lot in common and Lewis fell head over heels for Paige. The two would often be seen attending events together."

Lewis previously explained to the newspaper the songs were inspired by someone he "really loved", but she "left" him.

"I met a lady. She was very nice. I loved her. I loved the look of her and I loved how she spoke.

"We dated for a year and a half then she left me. Then I wrote an album about it and I still think about it every day."
