Google’s Pixel 4 launched yesterday, with an OLED display, Google Assistant, some incredible cameras and a price tag of £669.
Thanks to an event from Carphone Warehouse, though, you might be able to get the device for less than the cost of a piece of fruit.
The retailer is offering the chance for customers to win the latest handset in the Oh So Orange colour – by trading fruit.
Simply bring an apple, banana, or blackberry to the “Oh So Orange” fruit stall at Old Spitalfields Market between 9 am and 5 pm tomorrow and put it on the scales for an on-the-spot chance to win the handset – worth £669.
That’s not all – you could also win an in-store discount if you aren’t lucky, so you can still save up to £100 on the phone – or even a free Google Nest Mini speaker worth £50.
If you can’t make it to the event, don’t panic. We’ve put together some fantastic deals on the latest phone, as well as where you can find it with an unlimited data bundle, too.
Google’s Pixel 4 is the firm’s latest hardware due to compete with Apple’s iPhone 11 range that were released last month, and offers plenty of improvements over the Pixel 3 like a 90Hz display that makes everything feel buttery smooth, the second camera, as well as an extra 2Gb of RAM – so it’s lightning-fast.
Both front and back cameras include a “Night Sight” function, which allows you to take photos in darkened areas without the use of a flash, and there’s even an astronomy camera mode.
It was announced at an event earlier on October 15, but that wasn’t all the tech giant had to discuss.
The company’s new laptop, the Pixelbook Go, was announced, alongside the new Nest Mini speaker and Nest Wifi Router.
Google also lifted the lid on the latest Pixel Buds, which are coming next year and offer 24-hour battery life. They’ll compete with Apple’s AirPods.
We also know that Google Stadia will launch on November 15 – so we can see what the company’s game-streaming future looks like in just a few weeks’ time.
