A beauty queen has put her bad luck with men down to the way she looks as she continues her quest for love.
Joey Staerkle, from Llandudno, has won several titles at beauty pageants across Wales over the past few years.
But the 23-year-old believes her looks may have prevented her finding love – because she attracts the wrong guys.
The beauty queen has now ditched the glamour of the beauty world for a new TV show which sees girls banned from wearing make-up go on a series of blind dates.
The objective being to find a relationship based on attraction that is more than skin deep, reports North Wales Live .
Joey won Miss Supranational Wales 2016 and was also crowned Miss Conwy Galaxy, as well as being named Miss Popularity at the Miss Galaxy Wales beauty pageant.
She has also just graduated with a First Class Honors Degree in business from Chester University.
She appears in the upcoming BBC Wales series called Beauty Queen and Single alongside five other girls with beauty pageant experience.
Joey said: "I did get a bit emotional with not being allowed to wear make-up for the dates, as I would always wear make-up even if it's just mascara and concealer.
"Make-up is like a protection, especially as a beauty queen I try and look as perfect as I can."
She added: "But what I've learnt through doing the show is that I felt more confidence by the end of it that you don't have to look picture perfect all the time."
Joey who is of Swiss and English descent, wouldn't be drawn on whether she met her dream man through the show.
When asked why she hasn't yet met her Prince Charming, she said: "I just seem to attract the wrong guys every single time.
"I think because of the certain way I look I get the more cocky boys the ones who are really into themselves and the nice boys might feel a bit too intimidated – all I want is someone who is kind, family orientated and career focused.
