The former X Factor star appeared on Lorraine Kelly's sofa to chat about his new album today.
But James Arthur divided viewers with one comment, as he suggested "snobbery" was getting in the way of his success.
Speaking about major UK festivals like Glastonbury, Leeds, and Reading, the singer had a theory about why he hadn't been invited to perform on their main stages.
He said: "Unfortunately there's a touch of snobbery."
Before adding: "Maybe I've got to get another number one album."
Over on Twitter, viewers were fuming over his reasoning, and felt it was unfair to put the decision down to "snobbery".
One remarked: "Touch of snobbery because Glastonbury doesn't want him…!! Oh, do f*** off…"
A second simply added "a touch of snobbery?!" with laughing-face emojis.
While a third nastily chipped in: "Can somebody help James Arthur remove his head from his a*** please?"
