The most established in the cast, Winona Ryder is hailed as being one of the most successful actresses of the 1990s.

Her film credits include Edward Scissorhands, Dracula, The Age of Innocence, and Mermaids

In Stranger Things, Winona takes on the role of single mother Joyce Byers.

Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven)

Since finding fame as Eleven in the first series of Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown has gone on to make several high profile TV appearances.

The 15-year-old actress won the MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Actor in 2017.

She's since starred in the 2019 movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Millie has also picked up quite a few celebrity friends along the way, including rapper Drake.

David Harbour (Jim Hopper)

The actor, 44, has been on the show since it started.

He has received Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations for the role.

David is also known for his role as CIA Agent Gregg Beam in Quantum of Solace and playing Shep Campbell in Revolutionary Road.

Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler)

The Canadian native found fame in Stranger Things as daring Mike Wheeler but has since gone on to find big-screen success in the 2017 adaptation of Stephen King's It.

The record-breaking movie has become the most successful horror film of all time.

Joe Keery (Steve Harrington)

Having found fame as an actor in Stranger Things, Joe Keery is also musically talented and released an album with his band Post Animal in October 2015.

Joe has also had roles in hit US TV show Empire and starred in adverts for Domino's pizza and KFC.

He was upgraded from recurring to main cast member in the second series of Stranger Things.

Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler)

22-year-old actress Natalia Dyer started her career in Hannah Montana: The Movie after landing the role of Clarissa Granger.

Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair)

Caleb plays the role of Lucas Sinclair in Stranger Things.

Despite initially being wary of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), his character soon embraced her.

Caleb launched his acting career in the Broadway production of The Lion King.

Noah Schnapp (Will Byers)

The 14-year-old actor is playing Will Byers in the show.

Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byer)

The American actor plays Charlie Heaton, the older brother of Will, who he helped free from the Mind Flayer in season two.

His on-screen persona began a relationship with Nancy, who is played by his real-life girlfriend Natalia, at the end of season two.

Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson)

Dustin has been one of main characters in all three seasons of Stranger Things and is best friends with Mike, Lucas, Eleven and Will.

In season two, he helped to raise D'Artagnan, which he later discovered to be a juvenile demogorgon.

Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair)

Stranger Things are bumping Priah up from a guest-role to a series regular in season three.

Priah first appeared in season two as Erica, Lucas' strong-willed, little sister.

She previously had appeared in small roles on series like Atlanta, Mercy Street, and Daytime Divas.

Maya Thurman-Hawke (Robin)

Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke's daughter Maya Hawke has joined the cast for season three.

In the new series, Maya plays an "alternative girl” bored with her mundane day job.

She seeks excitement in her life and gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers a dark secret in Hawkins.

Before joining the cast of Stranger Things, she also appeared in the BBC adaption of Little Women.

Jake Busey (Bruce)

Jake Busey plays Bruce, a journalist for The Hawkins Post with questionable morals and a sick sense of humour.

The actor is also known for playing Aiden Tanner in the TV show From Dusk till Dawn: The Series.

Cary Elwes (Mayor Kline)

Cary Elwes plays Mayor Kline. The character is best described as handsome, slick, and sleazy. Mayor Kline is your classic ’80s politician – more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.

Cary rose to fame as Westley in the classic film, The Princess Bride.

He was recently a series regular on The Art of More and starred in The Billionaires Boys Club alongside Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton and Kevin Spacey

Francesca Reale (Heather)

The actress is also new to the show and plays Heather, a lifeguard at the community pool, who is embroiled in a "dark mystery", according to Radio Times.

She is best known for starring in fellow Netflix show The Haters Back Off.

When was Stranger Things season three released on Netflix?

This third series of the hit show is now available on Netflix.

It dropped on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at 8 am on the streaming site.

When will Stranger Things season 4 be released?

Shawn Levy, the producer of Stranger Things has confirmed a fourth series is underway, however, Netflix has not yet officially renewed it.
Speaking to Collider, he said “season four is definitely happening” and added that “there’s very much the possibility of a season beyond that one, that’s currently undecided".
Although no official release date has been announced yet, the series usually begins in either July or October.
Season three dropped in July (Thursday, July 4, 2019 – to be exact), with all eight episodes uploaded to Netflix at once.
