P30 Pro is set for its biggest Huawei update ever – Here’s what owners can look forward to

P30 Pro went on sale back in March and arrived running Huawei EMUI 9.1 skin based on Google’s Android 9 Pie operating system.

Earlier this year Huawei expressed its confidence the P30 Pro would be granted Android 10, despite uncertainty surrounding the firm’s future relationship with Google.

Last month, Huawei went a step further during the keynote of its Developer Conference in the industrial Chinese city of Dongguan – the firm announced its next-generation EMUI 10 skin based on Android 10.

Huawei also had P30 Pro units running an early version of the software available to test the following day – Express.co.uk used EMUI 10 and left extremely impressed.

Huawei’s EMUI 10 has a number of similarities with Samsung’s One UI skin – chief of these is the fact both position the majority of content towards the middle and bottom of a phone display.

In addition to this, the Chinese tech giant’s new software also boasts an improved dark mode, a traditional Android app drawer and a refined camera application.

During its press conference at German trade show IFA last week, Huawei declared the P30 Pro would be granted EMUI 10 based on Android 10 in the month of November, as noted by 9to5Google.

Unfortunately, the firm did not specify a precise date within the month it expects the upgrade to be delivered to fans.

With that said, it is likely the P30 Pro would be one of the first few contemporary flagship devices to be granted Android 10 following its release earlier this month.

Android 10 is currently available for a select number of smartphones including Google’s Pixel series, the Essential Phone and the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Android 10 brings a number of new features of its own that are notable – these include new permissions, refined gesture navigations and improved notifications.

A number of third-party vendors such as Samsung and LG have not yet discussed when their existing smartphones will get Google’s latest and greatest operating system.

In addition to the P30 Pro, Huawei’s roadmap also discussed the rollout dates of EMUI 10 for the P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro.

The former was said to receive the skin sometime during March of 2020 while the latter was declared to be granted it during December.
