We think it’s great! Her kids? Not so much.

Katherine Heigl made up a back-to-school cheer this week for daughters Adalaide Marie Hope, 7, and Naleigh Mi-Eun, 10, which she sang for them on their way to second grade and middle school on the first day of school.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Suits” actress shared the cheer in a video on Instagram and it goes like this:

“My name is Nay Nay, I’m 10 years old. Today’s my first day, of middle school…” her 10-year-old, at first apprehensive, flashed a smile and gave a quick wave. Then the camera panned to Adalaide.

Her eyes are as large quarters. What in the heck is this?

“My name is Addie, I’m 7 years old,” Heigl continued. “When God made me, he broke the mold!”

First day of school for my gorgeous girls! Yeah…I came up with an embarrassing cheer this morning laying in bed and couldn’t wait to sing it for them. The good news is…I did not do this in front of their classmates! ?❤️

Adalaide scrunches her face and frowns but Heigl presses on: “Today’s the first day, of second grade. I’m gonna be … “

“Super brave!” dad Josh Kelley finishes off camera.

And the look of delicious embarrassment Adalaide delivers is one that every parent has seen, which is exactly what Heigl was going for.

“First day of school for my gorgeous girls! Yeah…I came up with an embarrassing cheer this morning laying in bed and couldn’t wait to sing it for them,” Heigl captioned the post. “The good news is…I did not do this in front of their classmates! ?❤️”
