Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden is seeking unexpected allies for his presidential bid, praising “really good” rivals on the other side of the aisle.
“There’s an awful lot of really good Republicans out there,” the former vice president told a Massachusetts fundraiser on Saturday, according to the Hill.
“I get in trouble for saying that with Democrats, but the truth of the matter is, every time we ever got in trouble with our administration, remember who got sent up to Capitol Hill to fix it? Me.”
“Because they know I respect the other team,” he said.
Biden, who still tops most polls to be the Democrats’ presidential candidate in 2020, argued some conservatives were too “intimidated” to disagree with President Trump, according to the report.
“They’re decent people. They ran because they care about things, but they’re intimidated right now,” he told the fundraiser.
