Who is Christina Anstead’s new husband and how did they meet?

Fans were devastated in 2017 when husband and wife team Christina and Tarek El Moussa, the hosts of HGTV’s Flip or Flop, announced that they were splitting up. It wasn’t long before Christina moved forward, though. Not only did she get a new spin-off show, Christina on the Coast, but she also got a new husband and changed her name to Christina Anstead. Who is the new man who captured Anstead’s heart?

Anstead’s new husband, Ant Anstead, is also a TV presenter, but the couple didn’t meet through business. Instead, they were introduced by a mutual friend at the end of 2017. “It was love at first sight,” Christina told Extra.

The couple were wed in a surprise ceremony on December 22, 2018 after being secretly engaged for three months. Only a few family members knew they were getting married. Their other guests thought they were visiting the couple’s home to attend a holiday boat parade when they were surprised with an impromptu wedding.  “We didn’t want all the fuss,” Ant Anstead told People. “Just a quiet wedding without all the drama and paparazzi.”

Things seem to be going pretty well for the happy couple. In March 2019, they announced that they are expecting their first baby together. The following month, Anstead confirmed that their little one is a boy. Baby Anstead is due in September 2019.

Anstead’s ex says he is happy for the couple. “I’m excited for her new chapter in life,” Tarek El Moussa told TMZ Live in April 2019. “They’re a great couple and I really do hope the best for them.” On July 28, 2019, El Moussa proved that he is moving on from Anstead when he was spotted getting cozy on a yacht with Heather Rae Young, the star of Netflix’s Selling Sunset.

Some people have pointed out that Young looks eerily similar to his ex, but it’s unlikely that Christina is paying attention to the gossip. After all, she’s got a baby on the way and a loving husband who seemingly can’t get enough of her. It’s clear that Ant and Christina Anstead are the real deal.
