A fresh set of renders for Google’s upcoming Pixel 4 smartphone bear a striking resemblance to the next iPhone.
Over the last few years Google’s Pixel devices have been getting more popular thanks to their impressive cameras. Earlier this year, the tech giant released a cheaper version to tempt more customers to make the switch.
But Google’s main launch will fall in October, where it appears it’ll debut a new device to go toe-to-toe with the latest iPhone.
And from the looks of things, people may not be able to tell the difference.
Serial leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer has posted several rendered images to Twitter. These are based on rumours surrounding the Pixel 4 and show off a very sleek, albeit familiar, handset.
‘And finally comes your first complete look at the Google Pixel 4,’ he tweeted.
The new phone appears to keep the bezels of the current Pixel 3, but hugely increases the camera on the back. Like the iPhone 11’s forthcoming ‘camera bump’, the Pixel 4 will a bulbous addition because it could feature two lenses.
This shouldn’t actually come as too much of a shock to Pixel fans as Google released a teaser image itself that gave a glimpse of the back.
And we just can’t shake the familiarity to the iPhone 11 dummy models that emerged earlier this month.
Given that rival companies are releasing phones with three or four camera lenses on the back, the pressure is on for both Google and Apple to increase the capabilities of their flagship devices.
Which is why we may see a literal shoot-off between the two smartphone heavyweights as the autumn arrives.
