Hollyoaks' autumn stunt could kill Luke, Mandy, Darren, Nancy or Cindy after Harry's shock death says boss Bryan Kirkwood

HOLLYOAKS' favourites Luke, Mandy, Darren, Nancy and Cindy could be killed off in the dramatic autumn stunt.

The long-standing characters will find themselves at the centre of one of the soap's biggest ever and now legendary autumn stunts later this year.

Soap producer Bryan Kirkwood exclusively told The Sun Online: "The threads that kick off in this year's stunt will run through next year too – and I think that's what we do best.

"We use our stunt to kick off stories as well as end them and this year's stunt will have our much loved legacy characters of Darren, Mandy, Nancy, Cindy and Luke all in the thick of it with secrets being blown and new secrets being created."

With the recent shock death of fan-favourite Harry Thompson, Bryan added that it's a whole new world with no characters being safe from the many serial killers who arrive in the village.

He added: ""Over the years I think our audience has felt serial killer fatigue when the killers have bumped off periphery characters, actors they knew were leaving.

"I've occasionally rolled my own eyes at us following the same pattern with some of our serial killers, and it was time to make sure that if we were going to have that genre of story in the show with a brilliant unique and original character like Breda, that what she does has massive impact and shocks the audience to their core."

A source also revealed to The Sun Online: "The hot summer full of sex, murder and lies will give way for a cooler autumn.

"But it's an autumn full of devastation and destruction as loyalties are tested and some of the biggest characters in the show are put to the test.

"Some of them might not even survive."

Serial killer Breda McQueen has now claimed eight victims, and it has been confirmed she will strike again before summer is finished.

* Hollyoaks airs weeknights on Channel 4 at 6.30pm with a first look episode following on E4 at 7pm
