A migrant mother begged for help for her and her sick son through desperate cries in heartbreaking video footage.
The woman from Haiti lay on the floor by the gate of a temporary migrant shelter in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico, pleading for 'justice'.
She said they have suffered a lot, and claimed they have been there for 10 days, with no food or drinking water.
The woman said her son, aged one and two months, has been ill for days.
Through the tears, in Spanish, the mum said: "He has been ill for many days. I have suffered a lot.
"They haven't given me a bit of food. Each day there isn't drinking water.
"Help me, help my son. He is ill, he is ill. Help me. My son is dying."
The woman, when asked where she is from, replies 'Haiti'.
"He is suffering," she says.
"Help me please, help me, help me," she repeats.
"Justice, justice please, justice.
"My son is sick, help, help, help, help me please."
Around 100 African and Haitian migrants rioted in the migrant shelter yesterday, to demand medical attention, food and streamlining immigration procedures.
For the third time this month, many tried to escape from the facility which is an extension of the Siglo XXI migration station, televisa.news reports.
But migration authorities claimed they had food and access to doctors, reports said.
Mexico's immigration centers are becoming increasingly squalid and overcrowded as authorities step up the detention of migrants headed for the United States.
Inmates are languishing for weeks amid medical neglect, according to detainees, lawyers and rights groups.
Reuters spoke to more than a dozen recent detainees at the Siglo XXI detention center, the country's largest.
They described being held in the facility in Chiapas state on Mexico's southern border for long periods without information about their cases.
The detainees reported severe overcrowding, sparse water and food, and limited healthcare.
