WILFRIED ZAHA is keen to leave Crystal Palace – but unlike team-mate Aaron Wan-Bissaka, he favours a move to Arsenal, says the BBC's David Ornstein.

Palace value the Ivory Coast international at around £80m and are unwilling to sell this summer.

The Gunners were hopeful of signing Zaha IF they qualified for the Champions League.

But their failure to do so has restricted their budget to around £45m.

ARSENAL have tried to sell defender Shkodran Mustafi “almost every window since they have signed him”, according to respected BBC sports journalist David Ornstein.

Unai Emery failed to shore up the leaky Gunners back line last season and Emirates fans have been quick to blame the German.

Ornstein, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, said: “Arsenal, as we know, also want a central defender. It's emerged that William Saliba from Saint-Etienne is one of their options.

“The suggestion is he’d be loaned back for a season which wouldn’t be ideal as they need a centre-half now. There’s no confirmation on that but talks are ongoing.

“I was told that after the Europa League final that Unai Emery, who had always put his faith in Shkodran Mustafi despite a number of high-profile mistakes, has decided enough is enough with him and he is no longer in favour of keeping him, so he could be sold.

“Arsenal have tried to sell him almost every window since they signed him.”

ARSENAL are interested in Basel defender Eray Comert as Unai Emery looks for a bargain basement way to solve the club's defensive crisis.

The 21-year-old Swiss defender will cost just £7m and has already got to grips with life in London, having spent the summer in the capital working on his fitness with sprinter Dwayne Chambers.

According to the Mail, Arsenal will send representatives to Basel to conduct talks on Saturday.
