Do you know what’s the most fun part of watching The Bachelorette? No, it’s not cheering on Hannah Brown while she slams down a glass of wine before entering a difficult conversation. It’s not even trying to figure out how many of the dudes have worn that same salmon jacket. It’s the moment when the camera pans over the group of contestants, and you’re presented with a guy you have literally never seen in your entire life, even though you’ve been watching the show since the season premiere.
As Bachelor Nation star Ashley Iaconetti put it, these are filler guys. You know, the ones whose names you never learn until they get sent home. (Actually, even then…their names don’t get called. So you really might never meet them!) They aren’t big on grabbing the Bachelorette for a second, and they never, ever make a stink during the cocktail party. Here are some cuties that you missed while Luke P. was basically inhaling all of the airtime.
Chasen Coscia
You probably know Chasen as “the other pilot.” I’m sure this poor guy walked into the season pumped that his job as a commercial airline pilot would make him stand out until he realized that he wasn’t the only one. Unfortch, Peter took the top pilot spot, and Chasen went home on the first night. Here’s a cute pic of him with a dog, though.
He got a little scared when the thunderstorm rolled through.. #Home #Bear #Doggo #MyLittleBoy

Brian Bowles
Have you ever seen this guy before? I have not. Brian is a math teacher. That’s really all I have on Brian, sorry.
As it is the first week of summer break, this one goes out to all my teachers on/about to be on summer break. The kids think they are pumped for summer, oh but they don’t even know. Nice work teacher team, enjoy the time off!!!! #junejulyaugust #teacher #teachersofinstagram

Thomas Staton
Excuse me…WHERE was this tall, beautiful man? His Bachelorette bio says he’s a former international basketball star. Is ABC really telling me that we had to watch Jed PRETEND to play basketball when we had actual talent in the roster?
Definitely has not been the easiest year on or off the court but this does feel good!! Took it home! . . . . . . . #hashtagblessed #tantan #timetogohome

Ryan Spirko
This is Ryan. His bio says he’s “passionately working as a data analyst to improve healthcare for women.” This season literally had a group date all about women’s health…and we did not hear one peep from this dude. (Because he wasn’t there…and if he was, I definitely did not see him.)

Matthew Spraggins
Apparently this guy is covered in tattoos…but you wouldn’t know because I’m not sure that he got any screen time at all?
I’m gettin real good at this tennis shit

Matteo Valles
Okay, maybe Matteo looks familiar to you. But it’s probably just because you saw that he’s a sperm donor who has fathered 114 children and chugs milk in his spare time, and not because you recognize him from television.
First picture from today’s shoot with @beth_tate_ More coming this week!

Grant Eckel
Grant definitely got a lot of face time while he was on The Bachelorette, but…I really was shocked to learn his name was NOT Kevin when he got sent home. I’m still shocked, honestly.

THIS is actually Kevin. Sorry.

Joey Jones
Speaking of getting people’s names mixed up…this is Joey Jones. NOT Joe the Box King, and also not Hunter Jones. I can’t tell if I recognize him from The Bachelorette or if I’m getting him confused with someone that may have once appeared in some b-roll footage on Jersey Shore.

Sorry, one more name thing. Here are three guys named Daron, Dustin, and Devin. That’s fun!
Here’s Devin.

‘Scuse me, why didn’t we get more of this cute surfer? Does ABC even care about our feelings?

Connor Jenkins
How cute is Connor J?! I vaguely remember his story from the introductions…but that’s about it. His Instagram bio says his personality type is ENFP, if that’s something you’re weirdly, specifically into.
💭 What am I thinking about…? ☺️ It’s impossible to be happy all the time, and sometimes you’re going to have down days. Last year, I made a commitment to write down all my random thoughts and ideas so that I’d be able to reference them at any time, for any reason! Today I woke up feeling a little under the weather and a little uninspired. I scanned through my journal for some inspiration and found this gem from a day last year when I was feeling similar: • Make sure you pay someone a compliment everyday. When you feel down or low, use this as a remedy to bring you up. Compliment someone and mean it! When giving compliments, be specific. Specificity shows you’re actively listening, you truly care and you find what your complimenting to be worthy of noticing. It makes people feel better about themselves and about you as their friend! Do not over-compliment!! Your compliments will lose their value!! Also, people see right through flimsy compliments, that’s why specificity is key! • They say smiling and laughter is the best medicine. I’ll never advocate for hiding your emotions by faking happiness, and as a 98% extrovert, I simply can’t hide my true emotions. But, next time you’re feeling like you’re forcing a smile, try complimenting someone. I’ll be shocked if it doesn’t make you feel better, too! • • 📸: @caitlin_hendricks
