Isle Of Wight looks to the future with virtual reality Beatles experience

Next week Seaclose Park on the island will open its doors to some of the biggest names in the music.

This year, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, George Ezra and Biffy Clyro will headline the weekend.

In a first for the festival, Isle of Wight have also teamed up with iconic Liverpool museum The Beatles Story to offer a virtual reality experience.

Located in Strawberry Fields away from the main arena, the attraction will give music lovers the chance to be immersed in the world of the legendary band, as they perform at the iconic Cavern Club.

Speaking about the initiative, Marketing Manager of The Beatles Story Diane Glover said: “We are very excited to be launching our new virtual reality experience at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival on the anniversary of The Beatles’ visit there in the summer of ’69.

“What better way to celebrate this occasion by giving festival-goers the chance to virtually become one of The Beatles.”

Glover went on to add how music-lovers will be able to witness the iconic band “playing to an audience of adoring fans on our award-winning attraction’s replica Cavern Stage”.

As well as the headline acts, Isle of Wight will feature sets from performances from Lily Allen, Fatboy Slim and Madness.

Isle of Wight Festival takes place from June 13 – 16.
