Vodafone has revealed its line-up of 5G-enabled mobile phones, ahead of the launch of its 5G network on July 3.
The company will be offering the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G and the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, with contracts starting at £50 per month and £58 per month respectively.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 features a dual camera system, 6.39-inch display, and 960 frames per second recording, and is available to buy now.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 boasts a 6.7-inch display, six cameras with 3D Depth Sensor, a long-lasting battery and super-fast 25W wired charging, and is available for pre-order.
Both are available on Vodafone Red Entertainment plans, which include a choice of Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV, NOW TV Entertainment Pass or Amazon Prime Video subscription for the duration of your contract.
The plans also include Vodafone Global Roaming Plus, which lets customers use their call, text and data allowances abroad in 77 destinations with no extra charges.
Conspicuous by its absence is Huawei's Mate 20 X 5G, which Vodafone had previously said would be part of its 5G phone line-up.
Vodafone has decided to suspend the launch of these devices, after Google cut off Huawei's Android license earlier this week.
"We are pausing pre-orders for the Huawei Mate 20X (5G) in the UK," a Vodafone spokesperson told Mirror Online.
"This is a temporary measure while uncertainty exists regarding new Huawei 5G devices. We will keep this situation under review.”
Rival mobile network EE also confirmed yesterday that the launch of Huawei 5G devices has been put "on pause".
Vodafone said that its 5G network will be roughly 4 to 5 times faster than its 4G network, offering download speeds of up to 400Mbps.
The company has teamed up with cloud-based mobile gaming platform Hatch to showcase the new speeds.
Hatch offers access to more than 100 mobile games – including Angry Birds, Monument Valley, Crashlands and Arkanoid Rising – for £6.99 a month.
Vodafone Pay monthly customers will get the first three months free.
Built for 5G, Hatch allows gamers to play instantly with no downloads, updates, ads or in-game purchases to interrupt gameplay.
Hatch Premium subscribers can also connect with friends, follow live leaderboards and join live tournaments.
There is also a separate area within Hatch, called Hatch Kids, that is a safe space for kids to play, create and learn.
"Playing games on the go from the cloud is a great example of how 5G can transform an everyday activity," said Max Taylor, Vodafone UK's Consumer Director.
"This exclusive new partnership is excellent news for our customers – now they can stream over 100 games from the cloud with instant reaction times and no lag or drop outs."
Vodafone's 5G network will be switched on in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and London on July 3, before launching in other UK cities later this summer.
