Liverpool trolled by Manchester traffic sign ahead of City trophy parade

LIVERPOOL are having the mickey taken out of them by Manchester traffic signs.

Manchester City who pipped Jurgen Klopp's side to the title by a single point have organised an open top bus parade around the city centre on Monday.

And Transport for Greater Manchester have aimed a dig at the Merseysiders with a cheeky traffic message ahead of the trophy parade.

The first part of the message in Liverpool red reads: "You'll not be walking alone."

And in City blue the message continued: "MCFC trophy parade Monday 20th May, leave your car at home for shorter journeys."

And it is not the first Transport for Greater Manchester have got involved in football banter when communicating with local residents.

Ahead of the Premier League clash with Tottenham last month they made a cheeky reference to VAR, days after City were dumped out of the Champions League by Mauricio Pochettino's side.

City thought they were on the way to the semi-final when Raheem Sterling scored what he thought was the winning goal in a thrilling quarter-final.

But his strike was chalked off by VAR when Sergio Aguero was ruled offside in the build-up to the goal.

And the traffic information sign read: "Take the tram to the game, Picc- The Etihad in 10 minutes.

"It's by VAR the quickest option."

City will look to add to the Premier League and League Cup trophies on display on Monday when they face Watford in the FA Cup final today.
