But with three episodes left to go in Game Of Thrones, it's time to see what happens now that the threat of the dead is gone.
We've all been aware of the fact sneaky Cersei Lannister chose to let Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow do all the hard work and weaken their armies in the fight against the Night King.
And her plan has worked perfectly!
There was a whole lot of death in The Long Night and it seems like there could be even more in store in Season Eight, Episode 4.
It's being directed by the wonderful David Nutter – the man who brought us episode like Mother's Mercy (when Jon Snow died), The Dance of Dragons (when Shireen died) and The Rains of Castamere (ALSO KNOWN AS THE RED WEDDING).
He is basically the king of killing off unexpected characters, so the fact he is in charge of the action tonight is not a promising sign for those hoping to get a reprieve from death for a while.
And for those who thought that there wasn't enough death last week, you might get your gory wish and see some shocking moment go down as the battle for the Iron Throne gets back into full swing.
Plus, the fourth episode will be the last directed by David Nutter so he's surely going to make it count.
Teaser images for the episode have shown that some time will be taken to mourn the lives that we lost in the battle, but the teaser trailer made it clear that Dany is already moving on to her main goal – kicking Cersei's pregnant butt out of power.
But will she be able to get Sansa Stark and the rest of the North on her side to fight this battle?
It seems unlikely considering just how sassy Sansa has been towards the wannabe queen so far.
But then again, strangers thing have happened!
Read on for every plot twist, fan theory and shock death explained as we watch the living continue on their endless quest for power.
Time to turn our eyes back to the Iron Throne, folks.

And is he finally going to share the news with the rest of the Stark family?
He already butts heads quite a bit with Sansa so what is she going to think when she finds out that he is actually related to the wannabe queen.
It seems more and more likely that the show will end with Sansa being the Queen of the North when this is all over with.
I mean, that is assuming she survives to the end.
There is no guarantee she will, but I just have a feeling that Sansa will be okay.
Mainly because Sophie Turner got a tattoo on her arm of a House Stark Direwolf sigil and the writing “The Pack Survives”.
Lots of fans – including myself – took this to mean that the remaining Starks – Jon, Sansa, Arya and Bran – would survive in the final season.
But Sophie did try to dismiss the theory afterwards.
She said: “It’s just a quote from last season, everyone figures that the pack really does survive, but it’s just a moral that I like to live by.”

I have a feeling Dany and Jon will probably continue their awkward chat about the fact he is actually Aegon Targaryen a.k.a the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.
Jon's made it clear as day that he doesn't actually have any interest in being King and ruling Westeros – but has learning about his bloodline changed things?
He has technically bent the knee to his dear Aunt/girlfriend so being the honourable man he is – will he stand by that promise?
Or maybe Dany might stop letting her ego rule so much and could be in favour of a King and Queen duo running things?
One can only hope!

Meanwhile, Kit Harington has nothing but positive words to say about episode four.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “One of my favourite episodes is four because the characters have seemingly got what they needed.
“The world is safe now. They’re celebrating and saying goodbye to lost friends. But as an audience you’re going, 'This is only episode four, something’s going to happen.'
“And that’s the cool thing because I think the characters are aware of this as well. There’s something twisted and uncomfortable about it. It’s so Shakespearian.”
I just hope the first 15 minutes are spent praising Arya for literally being the ultimate warrior princess that killed the scariest man in the whole show!
She did way better than Jon or Dany when the big moment came.

Like last week, this is going to be another long watch.
We have one hour and 18 minutes of drama, action and backstabbing to enjoy as we come closer and closer to the end of the Game of Thrones era.
You might have seen a teaser quote from Emilia Clarke floating around this week in which she claimed that episode four and five are “insane”.
She teased: “Episode five is [exhales]—I mean, four and five and six, they're all insane, but like…Find the biggest TV you can.”
Let's just hope that episode four is also a lot “lighter” because that long night was a bit of a struggle to see – even with my 20/20 vision.

Lots of fans are still a bit miffed that the Night King is dead and gone with three episodes still left to go.
However, I think it makes sense that Cersei has turned out to be the greatest threat this season.
If you believe that the Night King and the dreaded winter were a warning about climate change then you could see how humans can come together to stop that threat – only for some power hungry person to use that as a chance to do something for their own personal gain.
Saying that, there are still plenty of fan theories suggesting that the Night King is still going to pop up again through Bran Stark.
I'm not sure how that would work but the two of them did have a very intense staring contest just before Arya Stark jumped in and saved the day. Hmm…
