It’s been two weeks since Adele and Simon Konecki announced they’d split and are getting a divorce. When they told the public, Adele’s reps said she and Simon are committed to raising their 6-year-old son together and won’t be commenting on it. However, that was the old Adele, because May 2019 Adele just posted the most hilarious meme that seems to be addressing the breakup.
This afternoon, the Grammy winner took to Instagram to post a photo of herself crying next to a different pic of her getting her life during her Carpool Karaoke episode. The caption at the top of the two photos was truly savage and said, “When you catch yourself in your feelings then you remember who you are.”
Now, considering Adele just broke up with the guy she’s been with for eight years, it’s totally understandable that she’d be all in her feelings, channeling that Ariana Grande “thank u, next” energy.

But since Adele didn’t caption her Insta post, we can’t be absolutely positive she’s talking about her divorce. Like, maybe she’s just in her feelings because she watches Game of Thrones and can’t get over the Battle of Winterfell. Or maybe it’s just because it’s 2019 and this year truly is a hot ass mess in general. There are endless possibilities, but if you had to place your money on one of the above, saying it’s a joke about her divorce is probably your safest bet.
Last week, People and E! sources said Adele and Simon decided to split because her work schedule became too hectic. One source said, “They had a lot in common early on, but eventually they just grew apart. She became a bigger and bigger star, and he was okay [with] being in the background, but as she got bigger and had massive tours and intense schedules, they just grew apart.”
Luckily, though, Adele and Simon seem to have ended things on a positive note and are committed to doing what’s best for their son, Angelo. Let’s just hope this divorce doesn’t actually cost Adele $180 million like people are saying because that would definitely be something to be in your feelings about!!
