Man Utd now only Premier League ever-present to concede less than 1,000 goals after Chelsea ship two against Burnley

CHELSEA'S 2-2 draw against Burnley has left Manchester United as the only Premier League ever-present side yet to concede 1,000 goals.

The Red Devils and the Blues –  along with Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton – are the only clubs to have played in every Prem season since its inception in 1992.

United have only conceded 923 times in the top-flight since the 1992/93 campaign, with Chelsea shipping in the second fewest with 1,001 goals.

Despite Arsenal's defensive frailties at the back of late, they sit in third spot having let in just four more goals than the Blues.

Liverpool come in fourth place with 1,044 goals conceded, with Spurs in fifth having let in 1,302 strikes.

Everton complete the list in sixth, with 1,309 goals scored against the Toffees – who are the only club yet to finish in the top three of the table since the inaugural Premier League season.

United have been awful defensively in recent weeks, with the club suffering six defeats in their last eight games in all competitions.

The 4-0 mauling at the hands of Everton on Sunday has left the side in danger of missing out on the crucial Champions League spots, with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer declaring he is ready to axe his flops.

He said: “When you go through bad results, you’ve got to be confident enough to say this is the way we're going to do it and plan ahead.

“I like all these boys, I love them because they’re great lads. But I've got to make decisions and manage for the club.

“I'm managing the club and helping the players but I manage FOR the club.

“But we’re going to put all our efforts into making sure we do what we think is right for the club.”
