BILLY Fletcher's prison past is threatening to catch up to him in Emmerdale tonight.
The former prisoner – who is played by actor Jay Kontzle in the ITV soap – has been trying to turn his life around since moving to the village to reunite with his family.
But in tonight's episode he will be rocked when an old villain from his banged up days contacts him.
His phone rings as he tries to enjoy a pint with his brother Ellis, but when he sees the caller Billy looks worried and hurriedly declines the call.
Things will take a turn for the worse for Billy later when Max turns up in the village and makes his evil intentions clear.
Billy arrived in the village on Christmas Day, just in time to see his mum Jessie Grant tie the knot with Marlon Dingle.
He’d been released early from prison and although Jessie was pleased to see him, she was the only one.
Ellis was put out that Billy had arrived and it was revealed that Aaron Dingle knew Billy from prison as he was part of the gang that gave him trouble inside.
Billy was jailed for three years after falling in with the wrong crowd, to his mum’s despair.
On a drunken night out he was involved in an attack on a random man who they viciously beat up and left for dead.
Jessie has always believed that Billy was innocent, while Ellis is convinced his brother is guilty but more recently the pair have become closer again and stopped fighting.
But that could all be set to change with Billy's old bad influences turning up in the village.
