Galaxy S9 has just been defeated again by the Samsung Galaxy S10

Samsung  Galaxy S9 was succeeded when the South Korean firm took to the stage last month and announced the Galaxy S10.

While the S9 was certainly an incremental improvement over the Galaxy S8, the S10 is easily more of a substantial overhaul for the product line.

That is because the device comes with a futuristic all-screen design, a more diverse camera system and has an incredibly fast processor inside.

It appears many Android fans have found the Galaxy S10 more appealing than the Galaxy S9, as was shown in the pre-order figures for the hardware in the UK.

On the day of the phone’s release on March 8, Samsung announced its S10 line had registered record pre-order sales in the region with the “+” model in particular accounting for 57 percent of figures.

Discussing the accomplishment, the South Korean tech giant said: “Celebrating a decade since the launch of the first Galaxy S, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd has today revealed that its new Galaxy S10 line-up has generated more pre-order sales than any Samsung smartphone sold in the United Kingdom.

“In the UK, Galaxy S10+ has accounted for 57 percent of sales, showing a rising trend of consumers opting for high-performance handsets. Prism Black remains the most popular colour of choice, accounting for 47 percent of total S10 line-up sales.

“With industry-leading features including Dynamic AMOLED display, Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner and industry-leading Pro-Grade camera, the Galaxy S10 range is engineered to meet the needs of today’s consumer.

“With four unique devices – the S10e, S10, S10+ and S10+ Performance Edition, each device offers a next-generation experience in display, camera and performance.”

In addition to being popular in developed markets, it appears the Galaxy S10 is also in high demand in emerging markets, too.

Samsung recently announced the Galaxy S10 series received twice as many pre-orders as the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in the South American nation, inflicting another defeat on the 2018 device.

As noted by SamMobile, pre-orders for the Galaxy S10 started on March 12 and the sales feat was accomplished within two-weeks of that.

Discussing the sales figures of the device Antonio Quintas, the vice president of Samsung Brazil’s mobile division, said: “This result reinforces the confidence of Brazilian consumers in our brand.

“Samsung has been in the country for 32 years always offering the best in products and services.”

Samsung Galaxy S10 has not released in Brazil yet; pre-orders for the product will run until April 4.
